This sweet little gal came all the way from Michigan to Maine to my parents friend, Charlie the day before he almost lost his life along with my parents. I met this sweet little gal last Sunday and she brought tears of joy to everyone she met. Dogs have a way of melting your heart and stitching up wounds. So grateful for puppy love and the joy a dog can bring to lighten the mood in any situation.

My tribute to the old pinhead character in Hellraiser - a film that remained in my memory ever since watching it years and years back - shocking to realise it was back in 1987!!! The characters in it, along with pinhead, scaring the living daylights out of me back then!! :D...still cannot recreate the horror, but great fun doing the shot! :D

I'm starting a 52 Weeks project! Very excited.
Kylie and I went to the woods in Detroit today to shoot and pretty much froze.
I ordered a remote for my camera to make this project a lot easier, so hopefully that'll come soon!
This week Hannah ate her first pieces of bread. She liked it very much.
Every time she sits in her chair she is so proud of herselve.
In this picture she caught a cold. You can see it in her eyes. Despite of the cold she stays a happy baby!
Bought this wooden top for my daughter and suddenly it has become her favorite toy (until she gets a different one though :-))
I am massively behind on my project to take a self portrait once a week. I am going to cheat and try to catch up, I am going more for the 52 self portraits in a year....
Here is the first camera for the 52 week project. It's a German made Ihagee camera that used an obsolete sheet film size. Lucky for me I bought it with a 120 film (still available) film back. Some of the shutter speeds are off and the felt on the darkslide let in a lot of light but for 15 bucks on ebay you cant go wrong!
I don't like them. I don't like beginnings and endings. I like to be smack dab in the middle of something. I don't like opening and closing ceremonies, that awkward time of meeting someone new and having to explain yourself, or the slow torture of having to work at a job after giving notice.
I'm sure mister lizard would agree that transitions can be rough. He'll be happy with his new skin soon but probably isn't enjoying waiting for the old skin to get gone.

The doctor said Anna was at the same size as a singleton mother at 36 weeks.
Both babies are right where they should be growth-wise. Everyone is so far healthy and happy. I am very thankful.
Week 1: Out with the old. The old wool packaging from my food boxes is now outside in the garden being used as a weedmat.

I love playing golf. It is so peaceful, especially when I have the course all to myself. I can play at my own pace and I can enjoy the surroundings. Panorama of the 15th hole at Hylands.

A few months ago, I was invited to speak to the Stanford Photography Club. The talk finally happened tonight. I had some doubts about myself and was nervous going in, but I'm really happy with how it went and proud of myself for successfully giving my first formal-ish talk on photography.
Thanks again for having me, guys. I had fun meeting you all and hope to catch you around online, if not again in person. Also, many thanks for dinner!

Simple, lazy 52 weeks image this week, as I'm too over-extended and sleep-deprived for anything else tonight and won't have any time later in the week, either. The school year is ending, photo assignments are piling up, and random projects like this talk are taking precedence over sleep this week.
Go Pack Go!
My first Packer game in over 12 years. 2 weeks ago I went to a conference for Fuel Up To Play 60 advisors, and won a pair of Packer tickets. Yay me! Eric drove up from Milwaukee and went to the game with me. It was great spending some time with him. This is a panoramic shot taken with my Iphone just before the game. I didn't realize until now that I also got Eric in the shot on the right side <3. Take 36 of 52 belongs to the Packers.
Last friday I had my admission on an art academies, sadly I was rejected. I'm a bit sad about it but when I was there I already knew that I wouldn't pass by seeing the work of students there. My photography style is way different compaired to the students there so I was just at the wrong place, I guess. I'm not going to give up, I will keep trying at other art academies.
(The photo above is my 'idea notebook' or whatever it is. And I got myself some new shoes after I heard that I got rejected.)
A nursing child and her mother share a form of togetherness that is unlike any other. My nursing days are about to end, but I'm glad that I was able to capture this moment to look back on with fondness in future years.
Again I thought I was huge at this point. Seriously delusional. Now that I'm 34 weeks I understand the actual definition of huge.

4. Seattle. We were driving & I couldn't get a good shot. I missed the Space Needle by about 2 seconds. Darn.
5. I love the GPS! We got lost & it redirected us back en route, right past this awesome elephant Car Wash sign. I'd love to get some close ups of it!
6. My dad had a penthouse on the 3rd level. haha! Not really. He was in the Surgical Intensive Care unit & we went up & down & up & down & up & down the elevator many times to see him.

9. I got to see my baby twin nieces. This is just one half of the duo. It's been 3 weeks since I saw them. They are getting wonderfully chubby.
