Even tho its almost week 40 now, i´ll post one from some time ago couse i have been lazy posting here on flickr lately.
It´s been so busy here lately but it looks like more relaxed weeks ahed with the baby coming and all. Let´s say relaxed as a relaxed can be with a baby in my life.
But i will be more active here in the deep pool of photography from now on!

I keep a journal for Olive and in it I write what we did that day, milestones, what her favorite things are and lately, funny stories from the day. She's so full of personality, spunk and opinions. I don't think she could be any cuter, but of course, tomorrow she'll prove me wrong.
Dinner has become one of my favorite parts of the day in our house. We've taken the post and tray off her high chair so she sits right at the table with us. She helps me set the table by bringing her plate, fork and napkin to the table. Then she climbs up by herself into her chair and waits for dinner to be served. We eat together as a family every night. We didn't always do this and sometimes it's not very convenient considering how early her bedtime is, but I'm so glad we've made it work. She eats whatever we're eating and she generally eats it enthusiastically. Now that she is mostly done teething (for now), her appetite has definitely surged and it's fun to watch her gobble up the food that Ryan has prepared. We talk about our day, sometimes we sing and almost always Olive is funny and charming. Lately Olive does not like it when Finn eats her food, which is quite the turn around from how it used to be.
One day this week, Olive particularly enjoyed her dinner but she was ready to get down and play. She asked for more and since she'd already had two servings at the table, we refilled her plate, put it at her little table and let her graze on it between running in and out of the screened porch. Many helpings later, it appeared she was full so I gave her plate to Finn to lick (is that gross?). Olive ran in from the porch, saw that Finn was licking her plate, turn to me with her hands pressed against her cheeks and her mouth in a shocked O and then spun around and stomped over to Finn. She waggled her finger at him, said no repeatedly (along with some other jabber, he got an earful), snatched the plate away and marched it back to the table. Then she looked up at me at me and signed "more". Jab, jab, jab went her finger into the palm of her hand.
After wishing and hoping and pushing and prodding, Olive has decided that she really likes books. It started with Goodnight, Gorilla. She liked to read it after her nap and she would ask for it to be read 3-5 times in a row. I brainstormed and researched other books along the same vein that she might like and we began reading Dear Zoo and Hand Hand Finger Thumb. Within just a couple of days, Olive began enjoying all books. It's the only activity she'll stick with for 30 minutes or more at a time. She likes to point things out in the book and "talk" about what she sees. She'll make animal sounds when she sees an animal she recognizes and when we talk about something that we've read about, she'll run and grab the book to read. She likes to sniff Duck and Goose's feet. It's so much fun.
We decided to go in search of Joy this weekend and what better way than a family outing to the beach. This is the girls trying to throw their dad in the water.
Today was the first day of school holidays and we had a great day, breakfast picnic at the beach, watched some whales frolicking in the ocean, then headed up into the the hinterland for a rainforest walk and back to the beach for a fish and chip lunch. Work, work, and more work this week gave me no time or energy to take photographs. We are now in Southern California on a short vacation. I took this a few hours ago from our hotel room... Have a great week all!

I'll just put this week into the busy busy busy pile too....I hope it will calm down soon.
We had kind of interesting weather this week -- What started out as a typical week in Michigan winter (cold, wind, snow, etc) culminated last night when out of nowhere the wind picked up and it started down-pouring. The rain lasted for maybe a minute or two before huge snowflakes and bits of ice began to fall - covering our entire yard in mere minutes.
We ended up losing our power for a few hours, but by late morning most everything was back to normal, and I managed this shot from inside our car window.

52 Weeks - Week 10 (View On Black)
I like this one better than the other, but this week you get two-for-the-price-of-one for my 52 Weeks project. I'd be curious to know which one you like better. :D

took my oh so cute nephews for a little shoot yesterday unfortunately we didnt get many shots as it started raining :( i took my bubble machine with me so we could test it out but i didnt realise i would need a screwdriver to get the back off :(
aahh well, we still had fun chatting about zombies, dinosaurs, time travel etc
so this week:
*i realised i didnt know how to make paper aeroplanes!! jay showed me so i still need to have a go myself :)
* a customer asked me if the washing up liquid was to wash chicken!! erm.....
* 6 of us at work won on the irish lottery, woohoo £100 each hehe :)
* i asked ethan if i looked like his mum as we're sisters, his reply 'no because you dont have white hair' hehe :)
* friday after work we all went for drinks, had a great time sarah gave me my late xmas pressie, a fabtastical 'wheres the zombie' book (like wheres wally, but with zombies :) i love it, and strangely i got ethan the exact same thing for xmas and really wanted to keep it :)
well, ive now got a week off work woohoo log cabin here we come :)
Caesar started week 2 of chemo today, his blood work was "perfect" they said, and the tumours on his spleen, liver and small intestines have shrunk! YAY! (there was no change in the size of tumours on his lymph nodes) His doctor was quite pleased (as are we) but there is still some concern with his weight. At his healthiest he was 89lbs, today he is 68lbs - he has dropped almost 10lbs since he was in ICU a week ago. They're not sure if his intestines aren't absorbing the food because of the cancer but we will know more our next visit if he continues to lose weight. He is ravenous right now so will be gradually getting him back on his regular food and hopefully that (plus the prednisone) will help him put some pounds on this week. He doesn't go back until Dec 6 because neither Rick or I can get the time off work to drive him to the clinic (its an hour away), hopefully those few extra days without chemo won't set him back too much. I likely won't update much before then, unless something drastic happens. Thanks to everyone for your well wishes, they're helping! :)
Livingroom updates: bought Craigslist Expedit for $60, weeded out warped/unwanted records, alphabetized media. I'm not sure if it really works in the corner but it's handy.
I had trouble finding my inspiration this week, even with carrying my camera with me everyday. I settled. 9/52
