This weeks 52 weeks theme is Abstract
This new gorgeous Maori Sculpture has gone up in Britomart Square in the past month, and I have not had an opportunity to shoot it yet - this afternoon I was down on the Viaduct, and on my way home quickly stopped to get some shots - and my entry for this weeks theme :-)
I had a perfect picture planned for this weeks ago. My plan was to go to a field with a little girl or boy and capture some great pictures of them holding a bunch of very colorful balloons. Well, Mother Nature had other ideas. We were hit with a few inches of snow during our "Spring Break". My husband, kids and I all built this snowman and I do have to say it is the best snowman we've ever made. We had a balloon in the house that I attached to his stick arm for balloon week. Definitely thinking outside the box on this one :)
Oops, Courtesy week almost got away without me posting this.
Shouldn't every week be courtesy week? Come on Chicago.
Edward J Kelly was mayor from 1933-1947, so I guess that is when this was out.
Seen at a paper show. I thought of buying it, but didn't.
There is a lot about wine that reminds me of our friends on Kaua'i. There were times when it seemed we went through this many corks in a weekend. Saving the corks is an idea that I got from Joe and Chelsae. In addition, we were frequent visitors at different wine tastings around the island. We have some pretty great stories about consuming wine while the four of us travelled Greece as well.
I finally managed to put my four seasons photo together. You can see the back of my house during the seasons. No snow in winter though.

This week has been busy and tiring, but upbeat: My first week of my second semester of college. I'm still trying to sort out my schedule and untangle my homework assignments, but I'm having a splendid time looking forward to learning and growing as I reach for new heights. All wrapped up, I'm optimistic.
Happy weekend, everyone!!! TGIF, for sure!!! The overwhelming return to work this week finally subsided this evening, in fine style, with a busy sunset sky and the welcome accompanying peace and serenity...have a great, fun, safe weekend, ya'll! : )

For this week I have a really bad quality capture.
I am so sorry for the lack of comments and posts. This week I'll catch up and continue to post once a week, as I used to.
Arthur is having some healthy problems lately.
First an otitis (an inflammation in both ears - I don't know if that translation is correct 'cause for that I used Google. Please, if it's not, let me know). I started the medications a couple of weeks ago and it should be healed by now but he still cries when I touch his ears. Or even when he itches.
Then, a week ago or so he woke up with a little something in the inner conner of his right eye... Like an allergy. Red and slithgly swollen. I'm using eye drops, but isn't working either.
And last but not least, just now we came back from our last walk of the day, as usual, and he was fine. I did everything I always do: changed his water and filled his bowl with food. He ate and went for his every-second-minute-hour nap. A few minutes later, he woke up and was limping (again, only translation I found, idk if it is the right one). I thought he was with the "sleeping" leg, like we do sometimes when stay in a wrong position. But then I tried to touch it and he cried. I still did some "exercises" with his leg, but couldn't find the reason of the pain. He can stand up, but then he won't move from there because he can't touch the floor with the right leg. If he starts to walk, kinda drag his leg. I'm really worried about that, especially because he never showed any sign of pain ou anything before. It was totally unexpected.
Tomorrow I'll take him to the vet to see what it is and take care of the other two problems as well. Hopefully won't be anything serious, but my heart is coming out of my mouth. Hate to see my little boy in pain and not be able to help him.
Anyway... Hope you guys have a great week!
This week I wasn't sure if I wanted to take pictures outside or trying something new in my little studio. I decided to try something different. I went to the dollar store looking for anything that would inspire me. I bought a bag of feathers, glow sticks, and candles. I mainly used the feathers. The biggest issue I had was getting the shutter speed just right. I wanted some detail, but not too much. It was a lot of trail and error.
I'm on a mission to complete the 52 week photo challenge, to capture at least 1 photo a week for a whole year.
Week: 32
Circumference: Holding steady at 42".
Belly Button: Still there - but barely
Enjoying: Going to classes with Ryan - at least we're learning the same information. Good conversations with friends.
Feeling: Really good. Better than I did a few weeks ago, actually. Although I think one of my internal organs is squashed up under my right rib. I've had to sit a bit straighter this week to keep pressure off that area.
Movement: Quite a bit. Often visible from the outside. I would describe it as squirmy and sometime it tickles. Not too many painful jabs yet.
Sleep: Varies a lot depending on what I do that day. Going to bed early doesn't seem to help as I just seem to wake up for a couple hours in the middle of the night. When I go to bed later I sleep better.
Food: I've been working through a bottle of pomegranate blueberry juice, which gets her very squirmy. I have been having miso soup as an afternoon snack and bananas with peanut butter in the morning this week. Spicy foods still seem to go down just fine.
Anticipating: Time this weekend to work on the collages I'm making for the room. February.
Another difficult week for me. I spent a good amount of time this week trying to think of something non-cliche for something 'Green.' I had all but given up until i walked into a water fountain show with lights. I initially started taking pictures of the fountain and I gave a silent prayer for the lights on it to turn green. Prayers answered.
