This week's theme was "light".
I was able to get out and take a photo. <3 Brian and I were taking back a movie and I asked him to pull over on the side of the road so I could snap a photo of the headlights and streetlights. It was so cold and windy; I think that the cold front has finally reached us.
This photo made me think of a song by The Postal Service called "Sleeping In". I haven't listened to them since I was in high school; it brought back so many memories. I especially recalled sitting in the cold underneath the bridge by the river with close friends listening to traffic pass over us.
It amazes me what can trigger your memories.
So, this isn't anything fancy or extremely creative...it was cold and I couldn't stand the thought of asking Brian to stand out in the cold with me longer than I already had. <3
Krishna the killer. So far, this week I've received five gifts. He's busy keeping the rodents at bay as the shagbark hickory nuts bombard my house and leave quite a meal for the rodent population. Krishna loves to curl up on my lap morning and night while I edit my photos (as a matter of fact, he's on my lap now.)
It was a toss-up as I love both of my cats and they are both adorable and loving. Here's the link to Ganesha lounging in the morning sunshine doing his daily ritual.
On another note, I have some catching up to do! I've missed my first two weekly challenges of the year. Will be posting "red" and "shapes" in the near future. Sorry I haven't had the time to give feedback lately either.

Matteo has discovered three things that make him extremely happy: "outside," the front window & the dog. Having ways to immediately cheer this kid is essential because he is now prone to very dramatic fits of sadness and screeching with no warning. Little body + big feelings - ability to speak = massive frustration for the little guy. That said, he really is still happy-go-lucky much of the time. But take away a not-so-safe object that he's decided makes a good toy, attempt to redirect him in his exploration, or suggest that its time to change a diaper and everything goes to pieces. It's an interesting phase... and even though the outbursts do wear on us, I am really glad that he is expressing himself and exploring a range of emotions.
And thank goodness for those favorite things, all of which are pictured here. Whenever Teo is fussy, his daddy scoops him up and takes his out our front door where there are lots of things to ooh and aah at, like the open field across the way, the gorgeous sunsets that grace us in that direction, the mailboxes, the sign for the building manager's apartment -- and if we are really lucky, the building manager and his family. (They live next door to us and have two awesome little girls -- Teo loves playing with them!)
Caya has also proven to be a big help in making the baby find happiness. She trots over and kisses him in the face throughout the day, tells us when he's starting to fuss and about to wake from a nap, and occasionally shares her toys! And in exchange, all she asks is to gnaw in some of Teo's nicer wooden toys. (Not so happy about this arrangement...)
Finally, the window: our bed (more accurately a mattress on the floor) is right under the very low front window. Perfectly positioned for Teo to pull up on and gaze out. This has become his favorite morning activity. He also adores watching the rain from there. Caya does to.
My first two contributions to a new photo challenge set up by LyndaHiggsPhotography, Meremail, SnapClickTripod, S_Freer and JSPhotography/Jenn, a 52 Week project with the aim of shooting and posting at least 1 image per week to a theme/topic.
These are my first two efforts. I'm kind of punching above my weight in hallowed company here!
A close up of a competitor in Falmouth Classics. This boat is immaculate and obviously is lovingly cared for by its "family". Falmouth Classics at the beginning of Falmouth Week is the chance for owners of these precious vessels to deservedly show off their pride and joy.
Not the shot I had planned this week. It has been a weird week and I end it having parted ways with someone who for a while was a big part of my life. I guess some friendships aren't mean to last, but this one will be remembered with "food porn," a labour day road, and many many sweaty hours at the gym.
No cookies were wasted in the taking of this photo... they ended up filling the bellies of my class and some report card writing teachers.
and HCS... if deciding that homemade cookies are best way to deal with a friend "breakup" isn't cliche than... I'll just sit over is the corner with my neatly stacked breakup survival tupperware.

At night, it was as quiet as a ghost town. I din't see a soul on the street. Where are they? I heard that Arosa is more of Après ski resort than skiing itself??? Perhaps we're staying at a very very quiet part of Arosa? But tonight, I saw it on a bulletinboard that Arosa is hosting a gay week, and tonight is the first day, they have an opening party at somewhere.....
This place seems a liberal place, and that may explain the poster (my prev entry of a blond young woman's portrait painting with a bikini top almost looking like transparent.
This Weeks 52 Weeks Theme is "Waiting"..... of which I did quite a bit this week :-)
After a wonderful 3 week holiday in South Africa it was time to hit the long road home - 36 hours from when I left Johannesburg to eventually arriving back to my home in New Zealand...with a 18 hour transit stop in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia....
The main photo is the "waiting area" at the gates in Terminal C of the Kuala Lumpur airport.
Below is the international arrivals area at Oliver Tambo Airport in Johannesburg, and below that is some fantastic "waiting" seats at KL airport (with the impressive rainforest in the background)
I love the Aiport in KL - it is one of the few airports where I do not actually mind having to spend time in between flights, as they have a lot of the "little things" that travellers need ......Free WiFi, decent eateries, great shopping, very nice Transit Hotel, Transit Lounge for $50 for 2 hours etc....
Painted the living room: I still have plans for the entry, and shelves & pictures need to be re-hung.
This week I started my advanced english course... so, soon I will graduate, more specifically, in july! Its amazing, isnt it? :D And this week I'm starting my 52 weeks. I want to try this cz I'm going to my last year at school, you know, the worst year ever! I have to study hard to enter in a federal civil engineering college, so I want to register the whole year! That's it...

Editing: I've just came from my english school and i have a lot to do! I have a text about personal and professional information to do for tomorrow; 5 pages of exercises, a resumé and a oral test about madagascar movie to monday! Omfg, this teacher is driving me crazy already!
