Another difficult week for me. I spent a good amount of time this week trying to think of something non-cliche for something 'Green.' I had all but given up until i walked into a water fountain show with lights. I initially started taking pictures of the fountain and I gave a silent prayer for the lights on it to turn green. Prayers answered.

I got my Nikon! It's the D3100 and I'm currently shooting with the kit lens, an 18-55mm.I'm in love. I think my baby is going to be named Michealangelo (mikey), after the Ninja Turtle :3
A nice warm week, plenty of sunshine even with the shortening days. Evidently good butterfly weather so the brassicas need netting. Nets don't protect against slugs, though; yesterday I noticed one of my cavolo nero seedlings had been thoroughly snacked on, and I didn't have to look far to find the plump brown and orange suspect sliming away from the scene of the crime...
There have also been lots of eager new theatre school students walking past this week. Hot gossip: if you always add the college to your tweets you get followed by loads of directors and people like that, and we don't quite know about Jas because she's really pretty and everything but she's kind of oblivious to *stuff*.

It's a hard time for Sindy at the moment because I watch nearly every match of the football world cup. And there's more to come, I also watch preliminary reports, match analyses, statistics and media conferences. So my hole day revolves around the world cup. The world cup will end at 11th of July but then Sindy will regain my whole attention ;-)

Hrmmmph...No flowers this time...no walk....no photo shoot...no nothing. Mom kept leaving me and then coming home with her camera and smelling like other dogs. I kept waiting all weekend for our shoot, and this this is all I get.
Go Canada Go....

I am savoring every last moment as homeschooling and child raising comes to an end; my heart is excited and expectant for every new thing that is about to begin.

Do you ever feel stuck at your desk and wish you could move a little while you’re working? Suzie Carmack from CenteredBeing Studio provided a super informative and fun event that got PAHO staff moving and taught them to keep active, even at their desk.

The first year is documented in this book:
This week I had the pleasure of photographing Michael McCallum, a talented local filmmaker and actor. Check out his work at www.rebelpictures.net
Thanks to Nancy B. for the great images to work with. I don't have any markers so I did this with a paintbrush and looks kind of messy. Does anyone have any suggestions on good markers?

Week 36: Right Time, Wrong Lens
Category: Technical and Creative!
I like my camera. It is a glorified point and shoot but very versatile. But sometimes, like when a shy hummingbird lands in a branch a little bit away, I wish I had a nice telephoto with some power.

The theme this week was to show you all my town. Well, I currently reside in the beautiful town of St. Marys, Georgia. It is located in the very bottom of South East Georgia right near the Florida border. I have lived here for ten months now with my husband and our two cats. We ended up here through the Marine Corps. with my husband being stationed at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base.
My favorite spot is downtown, on the waterfront. It is simply breathtaking! There are so many things to look at; in fact, I saw several of my "firsts" while walking on the waterfront. First time seeing fresh shrimp, first time seeing what high tide and low tide look like, first time seeing a "pirate" ship, first ferry ride, etc. This area is always the place to be considering all of the town's major events take place here; events such as Fourth of July fireworks, Rock Shrimp Festival, Hay Days, Christmas Downtown, etc.
Downtown is just the perfect vision of a southern community's main attraction/s. Every time I am down there, there is always something new to see.
Another crazy week of Physie and Photoshoots... I love being busy but I'd love a day off soon!
When Lucy naps, she has to have her favourite toys around her. To her right is 'Puppy', in front is 'Mr Feets' and beside her is a ball. The toys take priority at all times and look out if you're not paying attention to her, any of the above will be placed on your lap and she'll sit back watching closely with her puppy-dog eyes until you play with her.
It's her birthday on Thursday! I want to get a nice shot of the Noodle Pup in some sort of celebration... But I'm not sure how yet!
Olive had a great week. Mommy did not. The last three weeks she's been the happiest she's ever been. She's been sleeping better, loves socializing, rolling like crazy, pulling her knees under her when she's on her belly and blowing raspberries like no one's business. But in the last three weeks she's gained no weight. The doctor has us supplementing with formula and I'm taking supplements, eating protein and drowning in gatorade. After going 4.5 months without a drop of formula, I was heartbroken to give her a bottle on Tuesday. After turning a corner on reflux, she's begun to spit up buckets again. But.. she's still happy and strong. She could care less what she eats. And if she starts gaining weight, then I guess I don't care either. I imagine parenthood is all about adjusting and letting go, I'm just getting some practice in early.
