Theme of The Week - my year in pictures

week 32

I took my newly acquired fish-eye lens out for a walk around Rotterdam this week. It was fun :)

Catch me if you can!

Strong winds on the Bay bought out the Windsurfers. As they cut through the waves at super cool speeds it was hard to keep up with them

Week No. 52: Camera Toss / Kinetic Photography

Category: Technical and Totally Creative!

Christmas lights on the floor and a free swinging and spinning camera above.

Happy New year folks!

Simple self portrait this week.

My husband's shelf, if you hadn't guessed he is a history buff so it seemed fitting to give the image an aged look. My shelf is in another room and covered with a drop cloth while we paint.

WEEK 11. Technical: Split Tone

Split Tone is an editing technique where the shadows are toned one color, and the highlights a second color. Split toning is often used with color grading in the media to give a scene a desired look and feel.

Im early with this again! but i have a busy weekend ahead so i thought, post it now as i was proud of my editing skills here! with my wacom bamboo (named Brian), i didn't get along with it before (hence the names as its "not the messiah hes a very naughty boy")and now im getting used to it, but i will continue to call it Brian!

Anyways, week 10, wow! i was in London this week (kinda obvious) and got to see Russell Howard's good news being filmed live (<3333) but a nice wander around London, i fall in love with it more each time (i could handle living there :)).

Nothing but imagination

Probably inspired by Kyle Thompson

Before I say anything I want to apologize for being three weeks behind..sickness, lack of time, of motivation, of inspiration, etc. led to the fact that I didn't take any pictures altough I had only to shoot one last picture for this project.

BUT, I AM DONE! It's over and I can't believe it!! One year passed like nothing and I am so thankful for it! I've learned a lot through this project. I learned how to discipline myself (well not all the time ;)..), how I get another perspective on normal things, how to fall, how to stand up again, how to not give up and try over and over again. I learned different editing styles, how to handle my camera (very important :D), how to overcame challenges, and so on..

One of the things I am most thankful about is: YOU!

You guys are simply amazing! You don't know how much everyone of you encouraged me with every single comment, favorite, and everything else!! It feels so good to know, that there are people in this world who are connected through photography and art! I am also so thankful for those who I got to learn a little bit closer through flickr! I even got the chance to shoot with one of them!

Once again: Thank you!!

I also want to thank God for giving me live, strength and hope to carry on every single day!

So, this is it for now…of course I'll keep on shooting, but not regularly. It's the last year of school and it's gonna be very stressful! But once I'll be done, I want to start another project ;)

Have a great week! :)

This house in Bognor Regis still retains the sign of its former use, a grocers that ceased trading many years ago.

business trip; Horseshoe Bend AZ

It has been typically hot & humid here (97F with 107 heat index during the 7 pm hour when I took this) . These days I need to let my camera acclimate when I go outside due to the high humidity. Due to this my motivation to get outside for photos has been limited. That, and my primary camera has been in the shop for 2 weeks due to a recall. I get it back Wednesday! :-)

52 weeks of 2018, week 34 photobombing

Photobombing can be described as a person, intentionally or unintentionally appearing in a photograph of someone or something else and intentionally or unintentionally taking the focus and attention off of the intended subject. Wikipedia

The Oxford dictionary defines it as

“the act of purposely putting oneself into the view of a photograph, often in order to play a practical joke on the photographer or the subjects”

Thanks Damien, fun challenge

Week 34 1-8 September

More catching up posts. Here's one from the Melbourne Museum. Spent a day with the 2 munchkins at the museum and got to see lots of interesting stuff, like this lion on the prowl. More soon.

Here are the intruments of my isolation. Really these pieces of wood are what I've been playing with every day for the past few months. More soon.

The Hague

We are back again. And we had a really great time in Canada with only one rainy day in three weeks!

Hugo came back to us as the same best friend he ever was. No problems with three weeks missing, therefore I am so happy about.

Today we spend the afternoon at the beach, I captured him while he was impatiently waiting for his next retrieve.

First snow of this year and flowers of last year.

We've been out for dinner and walked past the statue of the Pied Piper.

dogs + snow on a frosty day just go so well together. Halle Lu loves frosty-breath weather

XI Week 09 27/2-5/3/20

Took this while in Mackay. We were at a lookout point and up above was this sea hawk? (not 100% sure). The magnificent bird was flying up high, really wish I had my 70-200mm F2.8 with me. Instead this will have to do... thank goodness for megapixels. More soon.

I'll probably try and do a few halloween themed ones since I love halloween. I wish I knew how to do makeup. It would make this so much more fun. I might have my sister try and do one too, she does awesome at makeup.

I used a couple of brushes, a spooky brush found on deviantart.com to add some clouds and a crow brush. If you want I can find out who made the brush, I can't remember at the moment.

Just a quick one this week... just in time! I just returned from a HECTIC weekend at the Discover Dogs show in London. I had a stand there for my pet photography. It went pretty well. I am finished and Rory's sleepy pose is where I'm going to be in about 30 seconds from now...

Last one from my 35 week baby bump :)

Still playing catch up with the themes which is difficult when on holidays. The dark rooms in the gallery in Vienna seemed like a good place for some Low Key.

I had a shot in mind for this week but last week I became laid up at home, so the shot I wanted to do went out the window. Today I got out to see the Doc. Driving to and from work is my daily routine so I went down this dirt road and came away with this. Near Devereaux Michigan

This is for the Glass theme at 52 of 2014. It is just a nice water glass but I really like how liquid it looks. I've always heard that glass is still a liquid, a super cooled liquid, but a liquid all the same. I tried to capture some of that liquid nature with this picture.

And sorry I haven't been around much folks, but we are now moved and starting to settle in a bit so I hope to be more of a Flickr pal again. Still lots of boxes around but we can unpack at our leisure now. Whew!
