Week 3 The 52 week project 2011.

I cannot imagine not having a dog around. I often take shots of puddles and the big woofer decided to get in on the act.

Week 6 "Artistic: Candy"

Well, I love candy. And I love this cutie. Half the time he might pretend he doesn't hear you, but he's such a little ham!

Side note - I'm trying to hold off from eating any more candy before my dentist appointment tomorrow...

Late posting again, but I am still on track!

I'm in Ireland at the moment. Kinsale is one of the most colourful towns I've ever seen. Can't explain in words how much I love this country. The music, the people, the landscape... everytime I visit Ireland I get a feeling like falling in love. Again and again and again :-)

Song of the week: Jamie Duff - You Can Call Me Al

I am borrowing the Flickr Friday theme of the week for our group, too, as it is giving me a chance to take a photo I have long wanted to take.

The Week#239 theme will be CHANGE.

To give us a lift towards our choice of image, nothing better than:

The Serenity Prayer:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.

To depict serenity to accept the things one can not change, another image of my lovely mother-in-law that you already know as she has graciously posed for varios photos we have seen in these groups.

Here, she is smiling, in advanced stages of Alzheimer's and bedridden with a broken femur, holding a memory of times past.

This little patch of flowers has bloomed in the barnyard every spring for as long as I can remember. And I never knew what they were or where they came from. I finally determined this year to try and identify them. After a bit of on line rummaging, I think they are similar to scillia or squill (please correct me if I am wrong). But they are in the genus chionodoxa and are listed that way in some garden supply catalogs. The common name is Glory of the Snow because they are such early bloomers and can with stand alpine conditions. They may have gotten a chance to live up to that name last night because we have a temperature of 30 this morning with a light covering of of snow.

It is to warm up over the week end and in fact, reach the 70's on Monday. I will have to go out later and see if I can actually get a few frames of them in the snow.

2/52 I wish the sun would stay out just a little longer.

2013 will be the year I finish my dissertation.... Until then, I'm stuck inside taking photos of my books.

This is a blind prickly pear cactus because it lacks obvious spines, but if you touched one of those "spots" you would have many small spines stuck in your hand.... almost impossible to get out!
