A slightly calmer Wednesday than usual; normally I have an afternoon meeting on Wednesday afternoon's but was lucky enough to be excused from that allowing me to catch up on some things that had been sitting on a general section to-do list for the section.
I've set a goal to have that list taken care by the end of next week so it was great to have the extra time to get a few things done.
Photography wise, today was a lock day. I took many photos of locks around town, but the minimalism look of this shot stood out for me.

capturing this scene was like finding poetry in everyday shapes. the stark shadows against the burnt orange wall create a beautiful play of lines, turning something as simple as a wall into an abstract composition. there’s a sense of stillness here, yet the lines seem to reach across the frame with purpose, as if they’re telling their own story in light and shadow. this minimalist framing draws attention to the raw textures and geometry, giving an almost architectural feel to an ordinary setting. simplicity meets complexity in a moment that might otherwise go unnoticed, revealing the art in mundane details.

A quiet autumn morning in the park with mist drifting between the trees. In the foreground, a mushroom stands tall. This is why I like this season so much, magical colors and ample compositions.

While most visitors to Étang de Peyregrand focus their lenses on the dramatic peaks and mirror-like reflections, I found myself captivated by these aquatic grasses flowing just beneath the surface. Lying down at the water's edge, I discovered an entirely different landscape - one of pure line, light, and rhythm.
My intention was to abstract the familiar into something almost painterly. The way sunlight penetrated the clear water and illuminated individual grass blades created these luminous streaks against darker depths. Each layer of vegetation told its own story through color and direction - the silvery whites of surface grasses, the golden tones of deeper layers, the dark greens of the lakebed below.
What drew me to this composition was how it transforms a simple natural detail into something that could be a modern painting or a musical score written in organic lines. Photography doesn't always need to show the grand vista - sometimes the most compelling images are found in the intimate details we walk past without noticing.
This moment taught me to look beyond the obvious, to see pattern and beauty in the overlooked corners of even the most spectacular landscapes. Sometimes you have to get down on your knees (or belly) to discover the hidden art nature creates when nobody's watching.

I remember how I was missing you while taking this shot. Everything was going well, yet I felt that something was lacking. I was thinking of your glowing heart, of your soul full of light. Of how blessed I was with having you in my life.
It wasn't a special place, just a small parking lot near Lake Antorno, not far from the renowned Three Peaks of Lavaredo, which mirror themselves in the dark waters of the lake along with the other famous mountains all around. Yet it was so beautiful, so perfect. Crop the car in the foreground out, I thought, and maybe it's going to be a decent shot. So I overcame my reluctance to take a shot at the mountains from the road, which rang so false to me.
Then I started the journey of post-processing, and I found myself carving your glowing eyes into these pixels, and suddenly this photo felt so good, so worthy. So here it is, a tale of mine which tells of that precious soul of yours. It may still be a landscape for others, after all, yet its meaning is still there, wrought into these pixels, and whenever someone likes it, well, they're liking you as well.

Two live oaks rise out of the marsh on a levee in the Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge i Volusia County, Florida. Shot in digital infrared.
Don't be fooled by the warm tones in this photo, the temperature dropped by about 30 degrees since yesterday, luckily the cold isn't sticking around and it should be warmed up by the weekend.

For a analog, as I am, It’s hard to get the colors right when scanning. So I had to twist the data handle a little bit before posting.
A calm autumn day at Lake Canobolas near Orange, NSW, with golden foliage reflecting softly across the still water. Warm seasonal colour, gentle light, and a peaceful regional landscape create a classic Central West autumn scene ideal for nature, travel, and outdoor themes.

I can't play until later, I have a family session to edit from Sunday.
After the first week of November I will have had a total of 8 sessions. WOOT... but, everyone has waited until the last minute for "holiday" stuff. So I will be working my wrist into some carpel tunnel. LOL
Seriously, after editing the little girl's from Saturday my wrist was numb and tingley. :(

This was about an hour or 2 before that sunset shot, for some unknown reason I was inspired by this view, so I took it to share with everyone else, hope you like it. Something about the color in the sky and the focus of the American Flag captured me. Thank You everyone for your wonderful comments! : D

Picture taken last weekend on a trip to Co Cavan. Found this church with this lovely door. Photo of print as its too large for the scanner.
12th Century Romanesque Door at Kilmore Church of Ireland Cathedral. The door was originally part of the Abbey on nearby Trinity Island.
Taken on the Hasselblad with 80mm lens and orange filter. Film was Kodak Tri-X devd in ID11. Paper is Kentmere FP Warmtone devd in Moersch SE5 and then in Moersch Omega.
