I was inspired by a 10 year old spread from Peony and Parakeet.

That and washi tape.

Recently when I visited a bookstore I stumbled across some book titles: Wheatbelly. Fruitbelly. 10 different Zentangle books. Green smoothies.… I asked myself what an Alien or Goethe would think about the germans when they would visit a bookstore… all people are happy with drawing Zentangles, but with a very big belly from fruits, wheat or… you can choose.

...with softness. Journaling.

Defend joy as a trench

defend it from scandal and routine

from misery and miserable

from temporary absences

and from definitive ones.

Defend joy as a principle

defend it from wonder and nightmares

from neutrals and neutrons

from sweet infamies

and serious diagnoses

Defend joy as a flag

defend it from ray and melancholy

from neives and rogues

from rhetoric and cardiac attacs

from endemics and academics

Defend joy as a destination

defend it from fire and firefighters

from suicidal and homicidal

from vacations and burden

from the obligation of being happy.

Defend joy as a certainty

defend it from oxide and dirt

from the famous brushwork of time

from dew and opportunism

from pimps of laughter

Defend joy as a Right

defend it from God and winter

from capital letters and death

from surnames and sorrows

from chance

and from joy itself.

You have to imagine the river

We've been out for a meal. While eating we talked about this and that; immediately Robert asked me, if he would be allowed to ask a personal question. I wondered what would happen now... we know each other for approx. 10 years, and I didn't know if I should laugh loud or if I expected a horror question. I said "Yes, of course", and he asked: "Do you think that I trimmed my beard too short?" After that question I decided to laugh. Very loud.

As usual, the colors on this are much nicer in person. Her eyes are a beautiful iridescent purple (Lumiere), not nearly as light as they appear in this photo.

I hadn't worked in my journal for awhile, and had been in a funk, partly because of the dreary weather. So I decided it was time to work in my journal and do a gratitude list, which I try to do on a regular basis. I felt so much better after wards.

I have a "Call to Action" on my blog about this. I recently started a "Call to Action" which is an exercise I give you to do. Here's the first one.

Because I couldn't pay with Euro in the Post office Swinemünde and I didn't have Złoty a very very nice woman bought a stamp for me! So nice. Thanks to the unknown woman.

The first pages of my Birds & Animals Journals !!! : )

it's been a while since I worked in an art journal/ scrapbook. I can't promise anything, but ... it feels like I might be starting again. I so enjoyed it today, I think you can tell.

In his childhood Vinzenz Huber the schoolfellows in his home village called him "Hubba Bubba", like the chewing gum. So he got a special affinity to this sort of chewing gum. No wonder that he teached his cows chewing chewing gum an make bubbles. He was so sure: At the next "Almabtrieb" (bringing cattle down from the mountain pastures) he and his cows would be the darling of the public.

The Federal President of Germany gives his nation a really bad show. Wonder how long he will like his position as a joke figure before he will resign.
