I started this during an art journaling workshop that I taught, and finished it up this morning. With time between starting and finishing, it took on a different meaning.
Something I've worked on and off on over the past two years. It's more like a drawing than an art journal page, but it's in my art journal.
This is a set of 5 over-sized postcards of some of my visual journal pages. Each glossy postcard represents a journal spread, and is 8.5" x 5.5". The printing quality is so good, you can read my writing and feel what I was feeling when I created the journal page. Keep it for yourself for art inspiration, or mail it. The back is blank, except for my information, so you can write a note and address it.
Ich habe diese Federtasche auf facebook entdeckt - so cool!
Discovered this pencil case in the chronic of a facebook friend and had to order it. My colleague is also a stationery junkie like me, so I've been sure that she will like it. ;-)
At the opening of an exhibition in the art gallery Kiel (Kunsthalle) I met the "Fruitimat". You can insert money, make a wish for your picture and wait a while. After a few minutes you receive a handmade drawing. Such a great idea!
Und täglich grüßt das Murmeltier: Je nach Jahreszeit... irgendwer jammert immer, sobald man das Fenster im Büro auch nur eine Minute auf hat.
ARt Journal page from 12/15/11...the first bit of art journaling I've done in weeks, maybe even months. Maybe it's a sign of things to come.
A squirrel scrambled into Roberts backpack, because it had to eat the apple inside. It didnt't even mind when Robert got his frisbee from the rucksack.
Dumb day in the office. But I received some very very nice presents which a lovable friend found in Japan for me. Isn't this a very cute painter's palette?
By accident I broke off a blooming sprout from my orchid. I put it in a 50s vase from my collection. Didn't know that orchids are so persistent in a vase.

The german postmen are on strike. Although they earned profits the german post / DHL wants to transfer 20.000 employees in the DHL delivery GmbH. The DHL delivery won’t pay the same salary as the postmen receive actually. They would earn 20% less than now. So I think it’s totally understandable that postmen defend themselves against this sale of their manpower. No wage reduction for my postman, please.
Irma R., Vorsitzende der Ortsgruppe Kronshagen "Rüstige Rentner e.V." überließ nichts dem Zufall. Vor dem Einkaufen wurden umfassende Preisvergleiche angestellt! Wasser?
Irma R., chairperson from the "hale and hearty pensioners registered association" spent much time to do some price comparisons before she went to grocery shopping. So she called the municipal utilities and asked for the price of water from the tap. So she could decide if she would buy her water in the supermarket or if she would drink tap water.
Today, while watching Louise Hay's DVD "You can Heal Your Life," I was struck by the overwhelming feeling that I need to forgive someone who deeply harmed me. He is the one person who I have felt I could never forgive, and had no desire to. But now I feel like I need to figure out how to do that.
Pgs 1-2 of my Journal
This is from week one prompt of the Art Journal Stimulus Project.
Words scirbbled on first, then painted over, sanded, & paper added, more paint, splaters, sanding, followed by washes of paint with water and sanding more splaters and splotches of paint some let dry for a while and then blotted up. It has a really nice smooth feel to it.
I haven't worked in my journal for over a month. This paged started out where I was angry at someone, and wrote everything I was angry about. I knew I was going to work over it later because just getting it out was the important part--I didn't need to be able to read it later. While I was in Albuquerque over my birthday, I started working on top of it, then I finished it after Thanksgiving.
those are pages of my diary (CoolNotes by TeNeues), not one of my sketchbooks; I sketch and doodle here all the time, but those are usually scribbles on the go, so they never end up on my flickr. i kind of like this one though, so here goes. the bush baby on the right isn't my idea - I saw it somewhere and quickly jotted down - it's cute!
