Today, while watching Louise Hay's DVD "You can Heal Your Life," I was struck by the overwhelming feeling that I need to forgive someone who deeply harmed me. He is the one person who I have felt I could never forgive, and had no desire to. But now I feel like I need to figure out how to do that.
Pgs 1-2 of my Journal
This is from week one prompt of the Art Journal Stimulus Project.
Words scirbbled on first, then painted over, sanded, & paper added, more paint, splaters, sanding, followed by washes of paint with water and sanding more splaters and splotches of paint some let dry for a while and then blotted up. It has a really nice smooth feel to it.
I haven't worked in my journal for over a month. This paged started out where I was angry at someone, and wrote everything I was angry about. I knew I was going to work over it later because just getting it out was the important part--I didn't need to be able to read it later. While I was in Albuquerque over my birthday, I started working on top of it, then I finished it after Thanksgiving.
those are pages of my diary (CoolNotes by TeNeues), not one of my sketchbooks; I sketch and doodle here all the time, but those are usually scribbles on the go, so they never end up on my flickr. i kind of like this one though, so here goes. the bush baby on the right isn't my idea - I saw it somewhere and quickly jotted down - it's cute!
I'm not very prone to souvenirs, especially when it's a matter of stuff which will get dusty after a while and end up on the scrapheap. But I love things which I can really use, so I bought this cute and kitschy bed linen. Love it!

I signed up for an art journal class online, and it taught me soooo many cool techniques! And this was my first page using the techniques. Look at how different it is from all the other works! I LOVE it!!! :D
Using techniques from Dina Wakely's Art Journaling 101 class
Thanks A-dab-adu for recommending that class! It was really fun!

XL Moleskine
There is a story behind every page.
For more about this page visit:
Incredibly bad service in the tourist office from Heringsdorf/Usedom. Robert asked the woman behind the counter: "Please, could you tell me the highlights of Usedom?" Emplyee: "Got to Peenemünde". Robert: "Hm, that's not very interesting for me. Do you have another recommendation?" Employee: "Hm. No." Robert: "You mean, here is nothing to do?" Employee: "No."
Hm, we didn't have expected so much enthusiasm ;-)
On my way to Kempten (Allgäu) via Kassel. I will never understand people's behaviour on motorways (and other streets). Why do they have to use the left lane when there is a limit of maximum width? And why so many drivers drive too close to the car in front? Scratching my head.
I use the Moleskine Pocket diary since 2001. These are all from 2001-2013. 2014 is in use, but it isn't understatement to say that the quality of the the Moleskine's paper is nothing short of catastrophic.
It hasn't been good in any time, but for me it's such a serious fall off in quality that I won't use the Moleskine in the following years in all probability.
Oben rechts, Apotheke:
„Ah, verstehe.
Peter (44) had a broken leg, so he gave his shopping list to his mother Ursula, so she should do the grocery shopping. Unfortunately he wrote „batteries“ wrong, he wrote a word which sound like an ointment or medicine from the pharmacy. When Ursula came back Peter was very annoyed. He needed the batteries for his controller! (DAMNED!)

Ouch! On the parkingplace at the supermarket someone dented my car. ;-)
When I came out and saw my damaged car I was terribly frightened, because I thought he accident was a case of hit-and-run. But the driver has been waiting in his car until I came back. Very fair, I've been really thankful. The driver was really pleasant, and I nearly wished I would drive a very old car and could have said: "Doesn't matter".
Since a few years I had the feeling that the paper's quality of the Moleskine Pocket diary became worse and worse. So I ripped out a sheet of my first pocket diary and made the comparison: Moleskine Pocket diary 2001 and 2014. (Please note: normally this is really really forbidden! Never ripe out a sheet of your sketchbook or diary! Outrage!)
At the first sight the differences don't seem to be very big. But when I look at the details I see: I'm right. The paper's fiber is getting destructed more fast in the newer Moleskine - you can see it in the paper's surface after treating with watercolor. But this is not the most annoying thing. Please have a look at the red watercolor dot above the two lines on the bottom of the spread. On the left side (2001) the borders are rather sharp. On the right side (2014) the borders are blurred, because the color is bleeding. The sme with the blue copic lines (Copic B24): The lines on the 2014 page have got some kind of shadows from the bled color. Colors are creeping inside the paper, so it's more difficult to draw some vibrant pictures with clear borders.
Pity! I really love those Moleskine pocket diaries, because they've got the best calendar design for me. But I wish the paper's quality will be improved one day. Moleskine, please let me know.
Here's a journal page I did last night. I have no idea where I got the page from the book titled "The Economic Background of the Sex Life of the Unmarried Adult." It was in my stash, and I HAD to use it--it was too brilliant to pass up. So I glued it under the photo of my eyes.
The card in the bottom left is by a student, Karla Frahler, who took one of my workshops last fall. I thought it was great, so included it too.
I knew it had been a long time since I journaled. I didn't realize that it had been almost a year since I had uploaded any journal pages.
gesso, acrylic paints, scratched messages, washi tape, painted flowers, and doodling because I miss flowers growing!
