Nothing particularly exciting here...except for the fact that our van's odometer rarely works, except for when it's really cold and only until the thing warms up.
I figured I'd get a photo to preserve this rare occasion :D
This pic was taken around midday, during a very sunny day, ideal for hiking but not for taking pictures...
Anyway, with a little post-processing, I could manage to get a fully different atmosphere to this image, vintage style.
Christmas and NewYear are approaching at a quick pace, so taking this opportunity to wish you all a fantastic end of 2010 and a smashing start of 2011.

I recently purchased this inexpensive VW panel van model at a swap meet. Its plain pearl white exterior was a perfect palette for some logos and lettering for my business. I used inkjet water transfer paper.

The westbound "Super Van" races through City of Industry, CA on April 14, 1975. DDA40X 6909 and a sister "Centennial" lead the hot intermodal towards East Los Angeles.
Early 1950's Morris Cowley MCV pickup, or as it was known locally Morris Coupe Utility, at Dural Men's Shed car show. Not sure why the badge says van.
Van Phat Pagoda was built in 1959. The name of the pagoda means 10,000 Buddha statues. As the name suggests, the temple has a system of small Buddha statues around the Buddhist Great Hall. Van Phat Pagoda is ranked as a record in Vietnam.
Modern Van, dating totally post-1918, as a town is rather a disappointment generally.
As the main town on the shores of a lake seven times the size of Lake Geneva, it's completely logic to expect something. But you get disappointed by its relatively smallness. It has half the population of Urfa (Şanlıurfa), none of the sophistication and hum of Diyarbakır, none of the beautiful architecture of Mardin, and none of the setting and atmosphere of Bitlis (all places which you will see later on my stream).
The second surprise is that, contrary with your expectations it is not built on the lakeshore but it is set back about 3km from the lake on flat ground with no views of the lake at all. Having reduced your expectations, you can enjoy Van for what it is - a comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area (and we will do that!) and a lively modern commercial centre.
Van, Eastern Turkey
Very tidy, apparently first registered here in 2006. Makes a change to see one that's not some sort of food van. DVLA suggests fitted with LPG, and it looks like there's a filler just ahead of the rear arch.
The volkswagen transporter was and is a very popular van. Everywhere in the world you can encounter a Volkswagen transporter, even old models like this T1 with the characteristic split windshield.
