A reloaded picture depicting D3937 passing Cannop Brook on the Dean Forest Railway hauling a brake van special on 18 April 2021. The railway advertises this as the ultimate socially distancing way to experience the DFR and is running brake van trips hauled by diesel shunters along the whole length of the line, in between the steam trips.

traditionally vans in bangladesh are human hauled. i was quite surprised at the ingenuity of the locals in khulna, who somehow integrated old bikes into vans. this was the first time i saw one of its kind. they are pretty fast and can be scary at times, especially because of the lack of tarmac roads. the locals however seem quite used to it.

EFCS Van Allen originally was build as colonial ship, late modification of Patriarch class. She was almost ready when huge colonization programm had been canceled due to deep political crysis. For several decades this ship was drifting in orbit without any purpose. Van Allen was partially disassembled, most valuable modules as reactor or hypercore were removed. Finaly, her empty shell was sold out as scrap. However new owner from one of peripheral colonies decided to rebuild Van Allen as construction ship. Due to lack of finances old equipment was used. Artificial gravity ring was replaced by radiation sheild to protect crew from old unsafe reactor and engine. Most secondary systems also were outdated or missed. Despite this Van Allen is still valuable costruction ship capable of assembling key sctructural parts of space stations or supermassive ships. About one third of outer rim's trade hubs were build with help of this ship.

Weekend before last, I got to spend a couple afternoons running an autograph line for Tony Curran. He was such a nice guy and such a darling to his fans that I felt inspired to make a minifigure of him in one of his most impactful roles, Vincent van Gogh in the Doctor Who episode "Vincent and the Doctor".

Taken in the days when the only way onto the continent for rail traffic was by ship, back in 1961 British Rail built 400 of these 20T Ferry Wagons for use between Britain and the Continent, lettered up as can be seen here 'Through to the Continent by British Rail' this one 2140012-2 being seen at Llandudno Junction.
