At one time the Police and Ambulance service ran Freight-Rover and LDV vans and coachbuilt chassis cabs with Rover V8 power. This "restored" example was seen participating in the annual "Beach Hop" event at various venues around the eastern Coromandel.

Campagnolo's official support van in a photo taken by Paul Sluder in 1976. Like a scene from Breaking Away.
As Van Morrison came out to go on stage for his 70th birthday concert on Cyprus Avenue the heavens opened. The rain fell in torrents. He laughed and joked casually with his pals as he appeared relaxed and unflapped by the
occasion. Suddenly (captured here) just before climbing the stairs to the stage he glanced up Cyprus Avenue at the thousands of fans sitting in the rain waiting for him.

Kasteel van Arenberg - Leuven, Belgium.
The site had been the castle of the lords of Heverlee since the 12th century, but this family became impoverished and had to sell the site in 1445 to the Croÿ family from Picardy. Antoon van Croy demolished the medieval castle and started works to build the current château in 1455 on the site, of which he destroyed all but one tower. Willem van Croÿ completed the works on the château in 1515, and founded a monastery on the château grounds for the Benedictine Celestines. The architectural style is in large part traditionally Flemish, with sandstone window frames and brick walls, though it has been structurally altered since 1515 and has elements of Gothic, Renaissance and Neo Gothic architecture. Its large corner towers are typical, once surmounted by a German eagle.
Charles III of Croy was the 4th and last duke, and after his death in 1612 without issue the château passed to the Arenberg family into which his sister had married, and remained in that family until the First World War.

traditionally vans in bangladesh are human hauled. i was quite surprised at the ingenuity of the locals in khulna, who somehow integrated old bikes into vans. this was the first time i saw one of its kind. they are pretty fast and can be scary at times, especially because of the lack of tarmac roads. the locals however seem quite used to it.

The Van Tran Flat Bridge was originally built in 1860 by John Davidson. The bridge crosses Willowemoc Creek and is 117 feet long. A Town truss was used in its design. The bridge was originally known as Motts Flats Bridge. It is the oldest of four remaining Catskill-type Town-Lattice covered bridges in Sullivan County, New York. The structure was closed for more than four decades until restoration work began on the bridge in 1984 with the Department of Public Works doing the work with consultation by Milton S. Graton of New Hampshire. The bridge reopened to vehicular traffic in November of 1985.

We're in Wasilla, but the road goes to Palmer. These are two very different towns in the Matanuska Valley.
Just to take one example - Sarah Palin lives in Wasilla and wouldn't like it in Palmer.
Ken gave me a GRAND experience for my birthday this year- we went to see Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience! Oh MY! Incredible! I felt like I had stepped into Vincent's world! It engulfs you in this wonderful exhibition of ever changing paintings, from wall to wall and onto the floor! Ken & I would have stayed all night! It was so wonderful!
I knew the changing works were going to be projected on the walls, but I hadn't realized how cool it would be that it went all the way onto the floor, so you did feel "inside" the painting!" Seeing the texture, the colors, each stroke of the brush! WOW! We loved it!
Stay tuned for more, and like Mardi Gras photos, I hope I don't wear it out, but I am enjoying seeing it all again even as I post them! SO grand to share! There are quite a few to show! :)
