Dans cette explosion de couleurs, de bleu et de vert, caractérisant sa palette, Vincent leur a ici opposé des jaune, orange, rouge et rose. Ces mêmes combinaisons ont été utilisées pour les pommes du premier plan, mais dans l'ordre opposé, les tons chauds d'abord, suivis par des touches de vert et de bleu, ce qui crée l'unité de cette composition (cf. musée Van Gogh d'Amsterdam).

"De Deelen is een uitgestrekt complex van laagveenmoerassen in het lage midden van Friesland.
De Deelen liggen in de vroegere benedenloop van de Boorne of Koningsdiep. Het lage midden van Friesland bestond tot halverwege de 20e eeuw voor een groot deel uit laagveenmoerassen, die zich naar het zuiden toe uitstrekten tot aan de (nog steeds erg uitgestrekte en tegenwoordig grotendeels vallend onder Nationaal Park Weerribben-Wieden) moerassen van Noordwest-Overijssel. Veel is in de 20e eeuw echter verdwenen en thans liggen de Deelen vrij geïsoleerd.
De Deelen bestaan uit rietlanden, trekgaten met relatief veel open water, struwelen en (al dan niet schrale) graslanden. De trekgaten (“petgaten” in het Fries) in de Deelen zijn betrekkelijk nieuw, omdat men hier pas rond 1920 met vervenen begon. Bovendien wordt – bij wijze van natuurontwikkeling- nog steeds veen gewonnen waarbij nieuwe petgaten ontstaan. Zodoende wordt dit laagveencomplex gekenmerkt door een naar verhouding groot oppervlak aan open water en de jongere stadia in de successiereeks van open water naar land.
Het gebied is grotendeels in bezit van het Staatsbosbeheer. Van dit gebied is 514 ha aangewezen als Vogelrichtlijngebied, zodat het deel uitmaakt van het door Europa beschermde natuurnetwerk Natura 2000."

"The Van Nelle factory was built between 1925 and 1931. Its most striking feature is its huge glass façades. The building is currently a high-tech centre for design and communication that houses between 50 and 70 small and medium-sized businesses. The factory grounds still largely retain their original design. Among the most striking features are the glass aerial walkways that connect the factory buildings and the shipping office.
The factory was designed on the premise that a modern, transparent and healthy working environment in green surroundings would be good both for production and for workers' welfare.
The complex is the result of the radical application of a number of cultural and technical concepts dating from the early twentieth century. This led to a new, functional approach to architecture that enjoyed mass appeal right from the start."

Une lettre envoyée par Théo à sa mère après son emménagement dans l'appartement de le rue Lepic précise entre autres que Vincent compose "surtout des fleurs avec pour objectif de poser à chaque tableau des couleurs toujours plus vives". Il en subsiste fort heureusement aujourd'hui une bonne trentaine, voire davantage, composés principalement au cours de l'été 1886.
Si ceux-ci relèvent au début d'un réalisme traditionnel à mettre au compte d'une activité d'étudiant, avec l'emploi de fonds sombres, s'y révèle aussi une technique pré-impressionniste ou pré-pointilliste. Les thèmes de ses derniers tableaux parisiens, notamment les tournesols de fin 1987, sont enfin le symbole du désir de Vincent d'aller vers des contrées où ces fleurs abondent (cf. wikipédia, F Cachin et B Welsch-Ovcharov).

Another noted traffic loss for 2011 was the HOYER branded milk tanktainers that once operated to and from Sévaz near Estavayer-le-Lac via the SBB Cargo Express network. The late afternoon Train 50136 from Estavayer to Renens VD now only comprised vans and was recorded south of Bavois behind 11349.
