The Nationa Express brand name was created in 1972, by the State owned National Bus Company, to bring together the Express Bus and Coache services operated by yhe companies within the NBC. It was a branding exrecise, with services continuing to be operated by the individual companies companies in the group.
Following the privatisation of the NBC, National Express in 1980's, there was a management buy-out in 1988.
In 1993, National Express acquired Eurolines.

En na een korte beklimming van het talud kon ik deze 5191 fotograferen op lijn 89 (kp 8.4) met Z1765 Kortrijk - Brussel-Noord. En dat op 23/07/1979. Alhoewel ik op een veilige afstand stond, zou ik dit vandaag misschien niet meer doen, want voor je het weet figureer je in railtime als persoon in het spoor.

Het Van Eetveldehuis aan de Palmerstonlaan in Brussel is ongetwijfeld een van de meest voldragen realisaties van architect Victor Horta. Ontworpen in 1895, in opdracht van diplomaat Edmond Van Eetvelde, bevestigt het huis zijn genie voor ruimtewerking, lichtinval en kleurgebruik. Hij ontwierp een huis volgens een nieuw concept, dat brak met de klassieke Franse stijl. Voor de gevel opteerde hij voor zichtbare metalen structuren, die voorheen enkel voor industriële constructies werden gebruikt. De erker rust op ijzeren consoles en omspant de hele breedte van de gevel over twee bouwlagen. In 1899-1900 werd op vraag van Van Eetvelde een tweede vleugel toegevoegd in witsteen. Binnen werd de traditionele indeling volledig verlaten. Centraal ligt een rotonde die het trappenhuis bevat, bekroond door een koepel. De donker- en amandelgroene marmerbekleding van de muren harmonieert mooi met de kleur van de mozaïekvloeren waarin oranjekleurige zweepslagpatronen verwerkt zijn. Het salon op de verdieping bevat een schoorsteen en lambriseringen in onyx. Het Van Eetveldehuis werd in 1971 beschermd als monument.

ACROSS TRUST Van Hool T816 Altano Jumbulance mark XVI (16) built in 1993. This was the launch in London. Mk 16 was similar to the 1990 Mk 15 Altano but with Van Hool's 'New Look' styling. This vehicle passed to The Jumbulance Trust when ACROSS ceased in 2001
The Transportation and Parking Services Dept. (TAPS) at the University of California, Davis, bought several 1987 and 1988 Dodge Ram 350 vans for a free shuttle service between UC Davis and the UCD Medical Center (UCDMC) in Sacramento. Unitrans operated the service until around 1994, when the Med Center shuttle service was eventually taken over by UCDMC itself. These vans were then used by the Associated Students for their "Tipsy Taxi" service offering safe rides home.
