Trying an original take on this marvelous building of the Düsseldorf Media Harbour designed by Frank Ghery.
Un angle se voulant original sur ce superbe bâtiment de l'architecte Frank Ghery dans le Media Harbour de Düsseldorf.
The widespread Eastern Screech Owl (Megascops asio) loves its tree cavities so much that it has evolved feather patterns that make it nearly invisible against the bark. These relatively small birds--up to 10 inches in height--are gregarious, as far as owls go. They will often live in suburban areas, so long as mature trees with cavities are present. In fact, they will often have more successful broods in the suburbs. Is this because they have fewer predators in these areas, or because they watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills through neighborhood windows?...we may never know.
Special thanks to Joyce_E_Landean (Keeping busy) for providing incredible directions that helped me find this roufus fellow!
UP 5937 has made the trip around the Gila Mountains seen in the distance as it splits the signals at Ligurta AZ.
UP GP60 1038 destroys another plow line as it passes through Rollo, IL. This was probably the most intense of the plow lines it hit on its run. Probably the biggest I've caught on camera so far.

CN Geometry car being filled up at Mona Jct in Waterloo, IA I thought these were diesel powered cars, but the UN1203 number is for gasoline. Possible UN number was flipped to the wrong number.
UP 6533 rolling around the big curve at Lenape with a long train of international stack cars in tow. This new paint scheme is growing on me but I like the bigger shield of the first units released. Go big, or go home.

I didn't have hopes of getting ahead of the train during rush hour traffic, however the train was flagged by a control point to demonstrate how that works within the PTC system. The delay doing so allowed me to comfortably breeze by them on I-80 to get a shot on the Lane Cutoff.

With the morning sun having just begun to climb above the horizon an eastbound double stack train drops down Sherman Hill at Granite, WY. The headend, led by EMD SD70AH-T4 3047, is passing one of an ever dwindling number of US&S searchlight installations on Union Pacific's Overland Route.

With the kicking-up of dust and other settled materials, a Buckingham Branch Railroad crew brings a westbound CSX empty coal train over the flange bearing diamond crossing of the former RF&P main line with the former C&O Piedmont Subdivision standing as a sharp contrast to the other on the afternoon of November 15, 2020, in Doswell, VA.
Returning to Council Bluffs from the south, a biz train has missed the last rays of the day and eases up to the BNSF diamonds at Oreapolis.
It's candy ;)
Delicious candy, at that!
The white is bright on purpose. I wanted a decent contrast between orange-white-orange.
Taken today along with some other candy photos but those can wait.

Union Pacific SD70ACe 4141, painted to honor President George H.W. Bush, stands proudly displayed on Union Pacific's 'Home Plate' trackage in downtown Omaha, Nebraska in advance of the 2019 College World Series (which is held across the street at T.D. Ameritrade Stadium). Following his distinguished military career during World War II President Bush '41' would play in the first and second College World Series (1947 and 1948) as a first basemen for Yale University. The display of 4141 began on June 12th 2019, on what would have been President Bush's 95th Birthday.
With talk of 4141's eventual donation to the Bush 41 Presidential Library and Museum in College Station Texas, will this be 4141's last public display under UP ownership? Time will tell.
