After a seemingly unending winter, it's now finally spring here in central Ohio. The first flowers are starting to bloom, so of course i thought I'd get out and take some pictures of them...
Found these guys trailside growing on a downed tree. They look like something out of a coral reef, not a forest. This is taken with the 90mm f2 manual Zuiko probably f11 or 16 on tripod.

Here’s my Savers finds cleaned up. Gi Clone, Midge and Blaine got the bodies. Blaine got an arm transplant so he has proportional hands and yea.
I boiled Malibu Repro so her head is less squished and put her on my other repro body but I’m debating on putting her on a jointed body cuz her head can accept modern neck systems well.
Dana got boiled too and her head is severely less warped now and I made her hair less tangled but it’s still super thick and big. Her bangs are rooted in a triangular pattern so I can’t just boil them to lay flat or outright remove them without rerooting.

He was about 4" from the camera. I was so happy today because my buddy hadn't showed up since the snow hit last November. I could always hear him in the trees nearby but he wouldn't come down for a peanut.
Thursday. Day 14. After filing my taxes at 11:30pm yesterday I was finally able to take a shower around midnight. It was the perfect cleansing to end a somewhat stressful day.
When my refreshing cleansing was complete I sat down and watched TV for the first time in over 6 weeks! Giving up TV for Lent has allowed for quite a built up collection of my unwatched TV shows and cartoons on the DVR. So what did I choose to watch first after being deprived of television for so long? Gossip Girl!
"What?!" you say. Yes it's true. By watching watching shows on The CW, a television network intended to appeal to women ages 18-34, I am categorically a teenage girl. Go figure. The way I look it is, since I removed most of the drama from my life, it's at least worth entertaining myself (by suspending all disbelief) and falling victim to being engrossed by the dramatic lifestyles of Manhattan's elite fictional teenagers. There! One guilty pleasure revealed, what else do I have to hide...?
After tending to my GG addiction, I then attempted to be entised by "Robocop 2" at 3am on G4's "Movies That Don't Suck." Well guess what G4? "Robocop 2" sucks! Honestly, why else would you be showing it at 3am?!?!
The thing about the Robocop movies is that I've always wanted them to be much better than they are. Given my obsession with the 80's and science-fiction movie franchises built up in the 80's – such as Terminator, Back to the Future, TMNT, Star Trek and Star Wars – I just want so badly for Robocop to be good! But, every time I give it a chance it just disappoints me. Why Robocop? Why? Maybe sometime soon a crazed Hollywood producer will take it upon themselves to give Robocop the cinematic glory it deserves. What with other 80's franchises rebounding into the summer blockbuster mainstream such as Transformers, Terminator, and soon TRON 2 (TR2N), I can only hope Robocop won't suck forever.
Anyhow, later this afternoon (after throwing in the towel on "Robcop 2" and getting some much needed rest this morning), I found myself back at work on the design for the Charles Village Festival website. I drew a wooden sign to house the sponsor revolver on the website (which unfortunately has yet to show up on the site, but does and will appear in the illustrations for the print materials).
While wrapping up my illustration work for the day I gave Meghan a call and we talked about Tim Curry ("Rocky Horror" & "Clue"), my skills with building things out of cardboard, and my affinity for acquiring sunglasses, which was decidedly not a skill.
After our conversation I indulged in more television, catching up on an episode of "Transformers Animated" and "90210." Yes, 90210. I'll just be honest with you. If there is anything pop-culture related in the world, I'm probably interested in it in some form or another, if not out of pure interest, at least for nostalgic reasons. I remember the original 90210 being real popular when I was a child, so that's where that interest comes from. It would seem I have a desire to soak up everything from my generation now in my early 20's that I wasn't old enough to experience when I was younger...

Looking down Green Dykes Lane from University Hill on the east side of York as the sodium streetlights begin to kick into life for another night. This hill is one of the highest places in the city and offers good views in a northern direction... the view stretches beyond the Howardian Hill to the North York Moors, which in this photo is topped off by the TV Transmitter at Bilsdale - this is a tubular steel mast held in place by several cables (a guyed mast) and sits in the heart of the North York Moors about 40 miles from York and 20 Miles from Middlesbrough and provides TV signals for North Yorkshire and Teesside, distributing the Tyne Tees local programmes.
