In the Gothic cathedral in Soissons, dedicated to Saint Gervais and Saint Protais. The building-work was started in 1177 and finished in 1479. It was severely damaged in the first world war, but later restored - a task that was completed in 1937.

Close-up of a glacier, the colors in the photo are true to what it was in real life.

We took a whale watching tour in Chichi-jima, Bonin Island, Japan. Whales were very active. Fluke up dive of a whale, which was believed to be a humpback whale from its size, was mighty, and was rather similar to that of a blue whale.

Another hike while it is very hot in Vancouver but at least it was early in the morning and not as hot in the forest.

On aime aller marcher et ici on est a l'ombre ce qui est bien vu la canicule qui dure depuis une semaine à Vancouver.

"Photography makes us feel that the world is more available than it really is." - quote by Susan Sontag

Today was all about the Carneddau tops . This was taken from the summit of Pen yr Ole Wen 978m overlooking the beautiful Glyderau range of Snowdonia. Could hardly hold the camera still due to the wind .

The route was from llyn Ogwen , a scramble up to Pen yr Ole Wen ..tricky at a couple of points due to frozen ice ! So..I didn't look down lol .

Headed towards Carnedd Dafydd 1044m ..it was bitterly cold today ! The windchill was subzero so the camera hardly came out .

Reached the base of Carnedd Llewelyn and decided to head down due to visibility.

Brilliant day . X

19:52 Using artificial light

I think most of you know of my forays into the neighbors' yards to shoot their flowers. Well, today I wanted dandelion seedheads, so, with bucket in hand, I walked for several blocks, and picked off the seedheads off the dandelions from peoples' yards. I'm sure they would be happy about that, right?

Then you can imagine how long it took me to stuff them into six bottles. All for a shot :)

Shot in my lightbox.

The Male Ruby-throated Hummingbird is the hardest to photograph to get the ruby throat lit up. They need to turn just the right way for the melanosomes to hit the light. This guy did and I nailed it! My best shot so far of this. Next, I need to get him on the Black & Blue lit up. Bill's Backyard Bird Blind.

This beautiful female leopard climbed up quickly following her cub. While her cub wasn't visible following, she was perched perfectly until sunset providing one of the most incredible photographic moments of my life to date.

UP GP60 1038 destroys some plow lines as it leads LPJ05 south through Elva, IL.

I was watching an egret and a great blue heron scan an area near each other. The egret clearly was yielding to the heron. At one point, the heron made a move toward the egret's location, after which the egret took off and landed in this tree, and called out in frustration.

Photography is a way of opening yourself up to the world. There is a sense of vulnerability on Flickr. You post a picture because you like it; you are proud of your work. You also post it and hope just one person likes it :)

SD-40N leads the transfer (YSP 51) from E Mpls to South St Paul. Crossing the Robert Street bridge on a very cold day. Good to see old friends today braving the cold.

RKO_3664. Close-up shot of a beautiful Bittern. Actually, I knew she was somewhere nearby in the reeds, but I couldn't find her due her camouflage feathers. Surprisingly the Bittern left the reeds (very relaxed) just in front of me allowing for some quick close-up shots.
