Although walking up the canal there was an air raid siren, followed by the dull thud of an explosive (oh, there's the bomb) and then the all clear!
I firmly believe that everyone needs time to rejuvenate themselves. Being on the mountains was just so peaceful, and beautiful. It was refreshing to be away from my cubicle and to be in a state of tranquility. Though I can't take these mountains with me everywhere, practicing yoga brings me back to these mountains.
This was a pretty random post... But just my thoughts when I look at this photo. Can you believe this was taken with a straight point and shoot? Shot this with my waterproof Canon Powershot D10. It felt weird not dialing in my settings but I'm still amazed at the quality a little powerful compact can take. Gotta rock those tiny but mighty sensors! ;D

Tranquility peaceful calm scenic view of flowing water in the Boulder County Colorado St Vrain River. A scenic summer view looking up the St Vrain Creek. St. Vrain Creek often known locally as the St. Vrain River is a tributary of the South Platte River, approximately 32.2 miles long, in north central Colorado in the United States. It drains part of the foothills north of Boulder and the Colorado Piedmont area in the vicinity of Longmont.
The creek is formed by the confluence of North and South St. Vrain creeks at Lyons. The creek rises in several branches in the foothills of the Front Range northwest of Boulder. Middle St. Vrain Creek rises along the continental divide, west of St. Vrain Mountain. It descends in canyon to flow along State Highway 7 and past Raymond. It joins the shorter South St. Vrain Creek about two miles below Raymond. North St. Vrain Creek rises northeast of St. Vrain Mountain near Allenspark and descends in a canyon to the east along U.S. Highway 36. The two branches join at Lyons, at the mouth of the canyon. East of Lyons, the combined stream flows southeast through farmland and ranch country, passing south of Hygiene and entering Longmont. It passes through the south side of Longmont where it is rimmed by a greenway trail and several parks. East of Longmont it flows generally northeast, meandering through a wide river bottom in ranch country and passing under Interstate 25 south of the intersection with State Highway 66. It joins the South Platte from the west just upstream from the ruins of Fort St. Vrain and approximately 4 miles northwest of Platteville. Source: wikipedia

When the day visitors have left the Beach, and the Sun soon passes the horizon. A lovely silence took over the scenery, not even the woman on the Karaoke Machine in the town nearby can damage this picture.

This was a distance shot of close to where the Music Man was playing his guitar. I didn't even see the people standing there until I'd gotten home. Not that I'm anywhere close to Thomas Kincaid, but those trees on the right really remind me of some of his work for some reason.
Here is another self portrait from the self portrait series that I am shooting now for my photography class. So far it has been a lot of fun shooting myself although very challenging at times.
It nice getting a little off the well traveled paths and find some sanctuary from all the people. Alcatraz is in the background. Large is the only way this should be viewed.
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.

Tranquility Gardens is located at Wellstar Cobb Hospital, Austell GA. In the midst of hospital, Hospice, Oncology Dr's office and traffic/. This little garden is about twenty five years old and has changed over the years but still remains. After my Mother passed away I purchased a paver in memory of her and another paver in memory of my husband's mother. I forget about this tucked away wonder and had not visited in a long time.

This is one from back in Mornington, Nr Melbourne - photography has been not as good today! lol. 75 second exposure here :-)
Haw river access area. So beautiful and tranquil. All you can hear is the water and the birds. A great land hike to get here.
An artpiece composed of several effects, the main image, layers, drawings done in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and some processing in Adobe Lightroom 3 Beta. My aim was to make this look like a classic chinese scroll painting.
This is an image of Harpoon Rock at Harling Point in front of the Chinese Cemetary. Songhee legend has it, that this rock was 'Transformed' from a fisherman who went out to sea.
The area is very tranquil and you would not think that this is on the shores of a well populated suburban area in Victoria.
Tranquility is the right word to describe this rock and the area of the beach. Part of my asian name is the word Tranquility (the top right character I drew in Adobe Illustrator). My mother always said I would eventually embody my namesake. One of the things I do love about photography is that it allows me to find some tranquility in this world.
Used to be only two things would quiet the noise of ideas in my head and that was showering or some sort of white noise. Photography seems to be doing the same thing these days.
I also want to dedicate this image to my friends of flickr. Your support has made my journey in photography very very rewarding.

I have a bunch of pictures to come from Horncroft Farm and Lord's Piece (Barlavington, W.Sx) later today but I had an idea to get some pictures of the moonlit Burton Mill Pond. But for some reason I couldn't see the moon, I thought that the idea of it being behind the downs was ridiculous.
But behind them it was. This was the lowest I had seen the moon for years and by that time I was already almost home back in Worthing. I had to get the shot, 1 frame left on the film.
It was spectacular. After I took this, I packed up the camera and tripod and sat myself down, and marvelled at the sight for almost an hour. That's a real meditation. Cameras capture things well, but experiences make better memories and you can't spend all your life squinting at life through a viewfinder as much as I enjoy it.
Sometimes a photo captures a feeling. Despite the busy drama of Conrail's crossing of the Alleghenies, somehow this shot of a westbound gliding downgrade at Portage, PA in late afternoon shadows, seems to offer tranquility. October 16, 1984
I was extremely lucky to get a snow day today (technically I couldn't get into work so had to take it as a holiday) due to heavy snowfall overnight. I had a fantastic day shooting and the only thing that my heart longed for was my beautiful wife, who had to go into work.
This shot captured my heart, soft and melted in the middle and a hard exterior, frozen and cold.
I now have a facebook page, all likes are very much welcome

Certainly not the most exciting photograph of a Willet... still something about it seemed rather tranquil and peaceful to me.
Finding peace and quite (other than the windy) - port hills Christchurch.
I wasn't expecting to find a bar stool here, but made for a good selfie opportunity

Colours of the setting sun at Tanjung Aru, Sabah. Took this right after the talk given by Louis Pang at Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort.

Having left our families cabin on Adams Lake, we drove the long and scenic route towards Whistler for a three day stay. Heading through Kamloops on the Trans Canada Highway 1, we passed by Jumper Beach and took Highway 97 through Cache Creek, towards Highway 99 and Lillooet.
This Photograph was captured at 12:32pm at an altitude of Eight hundred and fifty metres, on Saturday 13th September 2014 between Cache Creek and Lillooet, beside a beautiful Eighteen hectare body of water called Crown Lake, within the Marble Canyon Provincial, British Columbia, Canada.
