" Periods of tranquility are seldom prolific of creative achievement. Mankind has to be stirred up. "
_Alfred North Whitehead_
After opening the large wooden door to the road, you step into a tranquil courtyard lined with beautiful plants.
“If a man be gracious and courteous to strangers, it shows he is a citizen of the world, and that his heart is no island cut off from other lands, but a continent that joins to them.”
Francis Bacon

Lake Ashi with Mt Fuji in the background. It was pretty cold and the wind was so strong that my tripod was shaking. Wondered if the shake would be seen but it looks pretty alright.
Bhainsrorgarh or Bhainsror is a ancient fort that has become a major tourist spot in the state of Rajasthan, India. The famous British historian Colonel James Tod said, after seeing the splendid and mesmerizing beauty of Bhainsrorgarh, that if he was offered a Jagir (fiefdom) and given an option to choose it anywhere in Rajasthan, he would choose Bhainsrorgarh.
The present fort is around 260 years old and was built around 1750. It is dramatically positioned on the bank of the Chambal River. The loan boat sums up the tranquility of the place.
Saw this scene at Bridalveil Falls, off US 50 in the El Dorado National Forest, a favorite spot of mine!
Lost In Tranquility (Poem by Wind Walker)

Across from the mountains, A little house sits in the tree's,
I'm lost in tranquility,As my soul tries to breath.
White clouds moving slowly, The breeze a calm still,
I'm caught in the moment, As my heart starts to heal.
A piece of me, In the startling blue sky,
As I spread my wings, My soul starts to fly.
I fly to unknown places, Where pain and hurt once dwelled,
As the memories flow pass me, My eyes start to swell.
Tear drops drip slowly, Down my cheeks,
The wind wipes them dry, And gives me some peace.
Soaring so free, Over water and land,
My Spirit Guide gently, Takes me by my hand.
He shows me what was, And what's meant to be,
And why my life, Is so important it seems.
A long soar, Like the eagle high,
I bow my head, And I start to cry.
Back on the land, Across from the tree's,
I began to realize, What healing means.
It mean's not to forget, Let the past flow,
Of all the horrors, One soul had to go.
To take the strengths, And apply them to life,
Is a valuable lesson, I've learnt this flight.
Alone in the sunset, I watch it go down,
When I finally realize, What peace I have found.
I like this very much - so peaceful and tranquil. This Buddha carving sits at the entrance of the Waka Maya Resort, Sanur, Bali. This is scanned from negs, and the colors have slightly faded. Cropped and straightened in Photoshop, but no colour touch up on Photoshop.
Taken in 2002 with Canon EOS88 SLR on Fuji 35mm film.
Reverse sunset on western span of the Bay Bridge, shot last month. The eastern span closed down for retirement last night, to be replaced with the striking new eastern span by Tuesday morning.
Here is another shot from Lake Clementine that I captured on Wednesday morning. I can't wait till it warms up and I can get out on the lake with my family! Until then, I'll just have to suffice with taking pictures around the lake.
