It was a beautiful day for sailing. This sail was close enough to our shore, the black and white seemed fitting...it was almost picturesque.

So soft and peaceful - truly a tranquil scene!! (print of an original acrylic painting)
After a black bear ran up a tree in our old neighbourhood, the MNR and police had to come and tranquilize it so they could release it back into the wild.
Calm, clear mornings are always a pleasure to wake up to and this one did not disappoint. With very little wind, if any, the water was like glass creating reflections with great detail and color.

From the distance of three millennia, the echo of human transport reverberates in the streets of a modern city. Surprisingly, ancient, iconic, robed women are painlessly holding up a structure. Their 21st century counterparts, also robed, arduously support their families by transporting goods.
Even though inventions have eclipsed the ancient need for manual transport for sometime, culture makes human labour more economical than any other form of mechanized transport.
Social and urban critics argue that these women are better off without motorized mobility; it would ruin their health and community along with the environment.
Let’s ready for the transition to their healthier, if arduous culture! We may be immortalized again in marble!
Part of the Japanese Garden at The Huntington Library & Botanical Garden in Pasadena, CA. I hope ths IR photo worked out better than my last one from the Rose Garden. There's still a lot of foliage that might make this a bit busy. However, there are more shadows and darker objects and regions to make this a bit less flat. More pictures from a couple of the other gardens will be posted in the coming days and weeks.

Thought this was an interesting quote to compliment this shot of a Toronto streetcar in motion along Spadina in downtown Toronto. The other thing I like is that the figure is dressed in the same black and red colours as the streetcar. A lucky coincidence.
