The ornate decorations everywhere you look in New York were certainly amazing.... This one, in particular, in Grand Central station caught my attention... Right next to the restroom nonetheless..... You don't see this much anymore....

This was actually just shot in passing out my car window - not a lot of planning for this week's shot! These tracks are near my house and are in use (now, after many years of sitting idle), though mostly only at night. I've always liked how they go between the trees and kind of disappear into nowhere. There are actually people in the photo I didn't see until I was processing it, they're way back there!

Standing by in Santa Clara, Ca. for a new crew, this Union Pacific track laying equipment is a bewildering array of interesting "stuff". To the right of the gondola are rack cars where the welded rails are stacked. These cars went on for hundreds of yards. To the left of the gondola must be some type of operations car and to the left of that is a car that has a piece of rail traversing through it.
