An endless railway line baking under the heat of a scorching Australian sun, out west in the Mallee region of Victoria, Australia. This is a wheat growing area. That's what the silos on the left are for.

My daughter and I drove out to see a pioneer cemetery west of here (in Oregon, finding gravestones with dates in the early 1800s is very old, since Oregon was primarily settled in the 1850s). As we returned to the car, she took out her cell phone for shots of the railroad tracks. i had the 24-70 along, and decided that the sky made it worth shooting, nevermind the long straight expanse of track!

Empty railroad tracks across Croatia. I remember that on this day we had visited the home of a woman who had lived through the war with Serbia and had some chilling stories to tell. A very eye-opening experience!

“Snow isn’t just pretty. It also cleanses our world and our senses, not just of the soot and grime of a mining town, but also of a kind of weary familiarity, a taken-for-granted quality to which our eyes are all too susceptible.”...John Burnside

In the early morning hours, a bird traveled down our the street. Soon afterwards my husband found himself following the delicate tracks. It's always good to have family members point out things you might have missed. ;)

The small pond over to the rear of this shot is again an overflow from the River Wey.

I couldn't follow this track,as its on farm land and gated just out of shot bottom left.

This is another shot looking up at the front of the Walkie Talkie building in The City of London that, I thought, resembled a running track. As an added bonus, the moire patterns are included free of charge.
