The train tracks were illuminated by the headlights of a passing rail-truck. (a pick-up truck fitted with rail-wheels)
Snow has not yet blanketed these railroad tracks but cold winter air has browned all of the trackside vegetation..
This location is for us Uk photographers the famous Dungeness beach which is on the Kent coast in southern England it has a lot of disused and abandoned huts and rail track like this one.

My daughter and I drove out to see a pioneer cemetery west of here (in Oregon, finding gravestones with dates in the early 1800s is very old, since Oregon was primarily settled in the 1850s). As we returned to the car, she took out her cell phone for shots of the railroad tracks. i had the 24-70 along, and decided that the sky made it worth shooting, nevermind the long straight expanse of track!
Empty railroad tracks across Croatia. I remember that on this day we had visited the home of a woman who had lived through the war with Serbia and had some chilling stories to tell. A very eye-opening experience!

In the early morning hours, a bird traveled down our the street. Soon afterwards my husband found himself following the delicate tracks. It's always good to have family members point out things you might have missed. ;)

I couldn't follow this track,as its on farm land and gated just out of shot bottom left.
This is another shot looking up at the front of the Walkie Talkie building in The City of London that, I thought, resembled a running track. As an added bonus, the moire patterns are included free of charge.
