Here is the tracker control system in its deployment configuration – the card is the same size as an Arduino Uno . Socket at left holds the Arduino Pro Mini clone (ATmega328 5V 16Mhz). Socket at right holds the A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Carrier. Single 2-pole screw terminal block, right front, connects to the HOME sensor switch. The pair of 2-pole screw terminal blocks, right rear, connect to the four leads of the stepper motor.
The 6-pin right-angle header on the nearside of the Arduino Pro Mini clone can be connected to a USB-to-Serial converter, but is only used to download programs from a PC onto the Arduino.
Note the 9 VDC battery cap. I intend to power this system from an external power tank, because I plan to add a current hungry, FET-driven, anti-dew heater controller to the empty real estate on the board. However, for the time being, what with the stepper motor being powered at a 0.8% duty cycle, I actually think I can run the tracker for several hours on a standard 9V battery.
Another image from my visit to wales with Saesno in February. This was taken of the track outside Porthmadog railway station.

Some railroad tracks run underneath the New River Gorge Bridge. These tracks are apparently unused, but there are still active tracks on the other side of the river. I'll have to do some digging to figure out when these tracks were laid down and by who. Would be some neat history I'm sure.
Spc. Derek Sparks, a track vehicle mechanic, with Company D, 106th Support Battalion, takes off a track pad of a M1A1 Abrams Tank near Oro Grande N.M., May 21, 2018. Sparks and his crew were called to fix the tank after it broke its track on it’s way to conduct live fire. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. Brittany Johnson.)
Gorilla tracking is an amazing experience that involves walking in the wilderness in search of mountain gorillas in their natural environment. Uganda is ranked the number 1 destination in the world to go on a Gorilla Tracking
Walked from Cox Green to Fencehouses along these tracks. I was shattered by the time I got back home. My other half wasn't very impressed either - I told him we would have a lazy day!
