I wonder if this has been replaced, three years later?

(1937) Chicago and Western Indiana tracks were to be removed from literally from the middle of the square mile. Runway expansion was needed. Completed in 1941 with an Act of Congress. Thanks to the Clearing Historical Society for the map.

Here is the OTM Tracker preparing to off load the crane. The hydraulic support pylons work (I need to shorten the tops eventually so they minimize interference with the crane). The real truck has a pretty elaborate system that actually lifts the crane up to the same height of the gondola car, but I omitted that part (for now….).

We are at this year's Moulton Bicycle Club annual weekend at the home of the late Alex Moulton (1920-2012) and the still thriving Moulton Bicycle Company.

Hi-viz, helmeted Track Rats scurry and swarm over the railway and busily complete the work, which looks like building a new access platform.

A great end to a great day.
