Barn Bluff from a track in Cradle Mt NP, Tasmania

I noticed this fly while attempting to photograph dragonflies.

It was not a stroing flier but was more interested in the sand at the edges of the farm track.

I was surprised by the fact that the Holiday Train didn't coast between locations. It was moving.....at track speed. Caught me offguard as the train rushed to get to Trenton by the Air Force Base.

They re-inforced the track and built new beds in the spring so that the west end switch point would stand up to all the traffic coming and going at Vic yards.

Finke Gorge National Park is located in the central Australian desert country south west from Alice Springs. Access is along a rough sandy track which follows the Finke River. You have to drive over rocks so need a high clearance 4WD vehicle. It is the most beautiful place in Australia.
