I remember when the trains used to run here, back when I was a little girl. We would go and place pennies on the tracks, just to flatten them out, although I remember someone telling me could derail the train with them, and the excitement of thinking we had that much power was a thrill, too. The trains did quit running here, and it could possibly be that there was too much of a build-up of melted copper on the rails that caused that...
They say the trains will run again, and have blocked off streets and irritated the heck out of a lot of townsfolk, but I've only heard the whistle once and I can't swear it was the train.
I guess we will see if it happens..
I was actually free on a day the track laying train was working on the East West Railway. Regrettably by the time I arrived the train was approaching the new footbridge to the west of the site of the former Swanbourne Station. I could not any closer than about 50m to the site. Things did not appear to be going well and there were frequent pauses while a crowbar was applied to the rail to get it to sit correctly on the sleepers.
Is this the tracks of the SBB? It is known to be in this Conservation Park. There were also small burrows here. I haven't seen them before. Does anyone know?

(SA) Since European settlement, the Southern Brown Bandicoot (eastern) has been recorded from four separate regions of South Australia: the Mount Lofty Ranges, the south-east, Kangaroo Island and Eyre Peninsula. Sub-fossil remains show that the subspecies also once occurred on the Yorke Peninsula but there is no evidence that it has existed there in modern times. In the lower south-east, all current records are located in Forestry SA Native Forest Reserves.

Met een publieke avond kwam het debatprogramma Track Changes, dat plaatsvond tijdens de architectuurbiënnale van São Paulo op 4, 5 en 6 november 2013, thuis in Nederland.
Een internationaal gezelschap van architecten, stedenbouwkundigen, economen, ontwikkelaars, politici en architectuurhistorici sprak in Brazilië over de heftige veranderingen die een maatschappij ondergaat in periodes van economische, politieke of sociale crises, en over de rol die architecten en stedenbouwkundigen daarin kunnen spelen. De thema’s ‘What’s Your Crisis?’, ‘Bottom-up Is Not Enough’ en ‘We the People’ vormden de leidraad voor de debatten.
In São Paulo zorgde ‘Bottom up is not enough’ voor het felste debat. Het grootste deel van het internationale gezelschap was het eens met de stelling, maar over de manier waarop dit in de praktijk gebracht moet worden liepen de meningen sterk uiteen.
Michelle Provoost van Crimson Architectural Historians hield tijdens de debatavond in Het Nieuwe Instituut een inleiding over dit thema.
Daarna vond een discussie plaats onder leiding van René Boer en Mark Minkjan van Failed Architecture over de resultaten van Track Changes en de betekenis daarvan voor de Nederlandse architectuur en stedenbouw. Deelnemers waren Hedwig Heinsman (DUS architects), Rients Dijkstra (Maxwan architects and urbanists / Rijksadviseur Infrastructuur en de Stad) en Indira van ’t Klooster (hoofdredacteur A10 new European architecture).

Athletes, coaches, volunteers and law enforcement meet at The University of Nevada Reno for the 2014 Special Olympics Nevada Summer Games.

Track replacement between Shipley and Bradford Foster Square led to a number of Engineering Trains. Colas Railfreight's 70810 leaves site with old track panels as it passes through Kirkstall Forge on its way to Doncaster Up Decoy running as 630U.
The Track follows quite closely to the Monbulk Road and passes through Kay’s, Olympic and Kensley’s picnic grounds.
