The remains of the track that was used for massive dump trucks, to take sand away. Literally thousands of tons of hardcore was laid and crushed, to make this trackway, which stretches for a mile from the coastal road. But as you can see, the sea is reclaiming it now that the sand removal has finished. Now used by a few coastal fishermen.

The line was double tracked and electrified through a cut in Forest Park. Looking South from Myrtle Avenue, much of the the track is still in place, as is some of the third rail, albeit overgrown and falling apart.

I don't think that piece of track belongs in that position

I found this film in my bag, where I also found two Kodak Brownie box cameras. After a few minutes' thought I remembered taking these out to take a few pictures for 620 Day (on 20 June). This film was clearly already loaded in one of the cameras; it has a couple of pictures which are from earlier in the summer. This gateway is where I left the road just outside Clapham, in the west of the Dales, to approach Ingleborough (a hill) from the south. I have to say I'm struck by how crap this picture is, considering how much film has been used to make it. If I want a box camera, I usually reach for my Ensign (for stuff like Box Camera Day) and I'll be doing the same in future now I've seen the competition! I guess this is the difference between a simple meniscus and an achromat.

The film is CHS100, developed in HC110, 1/64 for 11 minutes. There was a little more dust and scratches than usual, because you have to have a 620 spool on the uptake side, and I only have one of them; so I had to re-roll the finished film back onto a 120 spool in my dark bag; more handling, more dust.
