This picture was merged from 2 single shots taken with the Distagon 1,4/35 at the Leica M in portrait orientation. The higher regions of the bavarian mountains were covered with clouds the most time of the day which led to some beautiful hoarfrost gracing the trees together with the fresh snow. I found this scene near to the summit of Scharfreiter at the border between Germany and Austria.

Thank you for visiting my stream !!

It was a busy day, ending with a Pfizer booster shot that took me out of commission… on the plus side "Christmas" came early with a new cell phone. Santa forgot to install a home button on the new iPhones so it's going to be a jumbled Christmas figuring it all out!

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.

I truly feel blessed in my life, and I have so very much to be thankful for. I am especially very thankful that my parents have moved here and are now within walking distance. That makes holiday travel and togetherness so much easier.

Here’s hoping everyone had a great day!

Autumn leaves by the pond.

I'm extremely glad that this image has been received well ~ it is probably one of my favorite photos. I happy the it turned out well, but most of the praise should go to the butterfly. It's one thing to get lucky and have a butterfly sit still for a photo ~ but it's extremely fortunate when one is as pretty as this one.

Thanks for humoring me while I put up another shot of this Buckeye. I have chased one or two Buckeyes in my back yard for months now ~ and they will never sit still long enough for a photo. This one seemed to want to pose for me ~ so far be it from me to not shoot her photo.... a lot.

Junonia coenia is the Common Buckeye butterfly. It is found in all parts of the United States except the northwest, and is especially common in the South, the California coast, and throughout Central America.

HFF and have a great weekend!

After I took the previous picture the cows got curious and came to see me, they got very close and actually licked my arms!! They were very friendly and sweet, and their breath was hot and steamy!
