It looked very romantic indeed, "she" lying there and he as a kind of a bodyguard...yes, until "she" stood up and I realized it was also a he! Well, friends then! :O)
For the Group Life is a Rainbow. The colour is Light Green.
(no. 1 of the light green sequence)
Light green makes me think of the soft new leaves that cover the trees in Spring. Writing this in the middle of a white-out blizzard it is a wistful, hopeful thought of things to come! But we do have some lovely colour indoors, and these tulip leaves are keeping the green thought alive. They are the unsung heroes of the tulip world ... they have such beauty and grace of their own, but we always look at the flowers and overlook the leaves!
And Happy Bokeh Wednesday too ;o)

The weather forecast predicted cold temperatures and storm for the weekend ahead so I thought I should post a pic of blossoms I took yesterday ;-).
The spring feeling is better, if you view it in large.

When you are lucky, it ends with a beautiful display like this.
Hubby sent me this shot tonight, or for him it was when he first woke up tomorrow morning.. in 16 hours he will be home.
Each Spring to the delight of my eyes there emerge the pear tree blossoms signaling hope and promise for my soul.

♥♥♥ Thank you all for your visits, faves, invites and wonderful comments ♥♥♥
The photo, taken outside on the front porch at my eldest daughter's house. The flowers, artificial poinsettia... way to cold outside for real ones. The camera, my one and only, a Pentax point and shoot. The processing, about a 75/25 percent combo of my ACDSee Pro 2.5 and Picnik. The weekend, really nice, so far. Hope yours has been, too.

Apparently, I made the naughty list… totally worth it.
Merry Christmas to one and all!
Theme: Tis The Season
Year Ten Of My 365 Project
Long day at work included moments all throughout the day of coming out of my office and just sitting by the tree for a few moments. The cold weather, the warmth by the fire, and beautiful music got me through the day and to the weekend...
Hope everyone had a great Friday!

Bald Eagle (View Large for detail). Hand held in very difficult lighting. He/she is about to take off- note the raised wings. Taken over a salmon spawning river in a rain forest, dark and mossy. Always a thrill to find the eagles sitting and looking for salmon remains. This one is looking for bits of salmon that might be floating down the river. IMG_9725
Texture: T6 in my free texture set (Free Textures by TCP)
Starting with a picture with way too much detail, I stripped it to its basic forms and lines. Then, using various adjustments and blending modes, added back the color and contrast. With the smudge tool in Photoshop I was able to create the brush strokes (essentially repainting the image). The T6 texture smoothed the look and the canvas overlay in Fx finished it off.
Things wont bloom for another 2 week. But the Conservatory bubbled over with gorgeous plants!! Enjoy
For beauty, for hope, for renewal of life and for joy...

NOTHING is so beautiful as spring—
When weeds, in wheels, shoot long and lovely and lush;
Thrush’s eggs look little low heavens, and thrush
Through the echoing timber does so rinse and wring
The ear, it strikes like lightnings to hear him sing;
The glassy peartree leaves and blooms, they brush
The descending blue; that blue is all in a rush
With richness; the racing lambs too have fair their fling.
What is all this juice and all this joy?
A strain of the earth’s sweet being in the beginning
In Eden garden.—Have, get, before it cloy,
Before it cloud, Christ, lord, and sour with sinning,
Innocent mind and Mayday in girl and boy,
Most, O maid’s child, thy choice and worthy the winning.

I couldn't resist another shot of my Japanese plum blossom.
The fence beyond is typical of North East Scotland (and maybe elsewhere) in being part stone wall, and part wooden and wire in construction. The stones form the base, and the wood and barbed wire sit on top.
