In Autumn Mother Nature
turns out in full array.
Her multi-colored splendor,
a dazzling display.
Leaves like painted jewels,
pleasing to the eye.
Transformation is brewing
in the solemn Autumn sky.

I'm extremely glad that this image has been received well ~ it is probably one of my favorite photos. I happy the it turned out well, but most of the praise should go to the butterfly. It's one thing to get lucky and have a butterfly sit still for a photo ~ but it's extremely fortunate when one is as pretty as this one.
Thanks for humoring me while I put up another shot of this Buckeye. I have chased one or two Buckeyes in my back yard for months now ~ and they will never sit still long enough for a photo. This one seemed to want to pose for me ~ so far be it from me to not shoot her photo.... a lot.
Junonia coenia is the Common Buckeye butterfly. It is found in all parts of the United States except the northwest, and is especially common in the South, the California coast, and throughout Central America.

"I am going to try to pay attention to the spring. I am going to look around at all the flowers, and look up at the hectic trees. I am going to close my eyes and listen."

happy spring and have fun , my flickr friends!
After I took the previous picture the cows got curious and came to see me, they got very close and actually licked my arms!! They were very friendly and sweet, and their breath was hot and steamy!
"All of us have in our veins, the exact same percentage of salt in our bodies that exists in the ocean and therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears.
We are tied to the ocean.
And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch it, we are going back from whence we came"

Ball Diamond Road, looking west toward Seneca Lake, Hector, NY. (Sorry about the dirty snow at the side of the road, but I wouldn't have dared to drive down this road before it was plowed and most of the snow was gone from the road.)

One of my favorite places along Rt47 profuse with farmlands. All the leaves are gone and it's russet color time!
Merry Christmas one and all… this Christmas Eve was all about keeping busy. I spent a majority of the day in the kitchen cooking Christmas Eve foods and desserts for Christmas Day.
My fraternity Christmas stocking meant all the more this year after losing my good fraternity brother- but I just strived to remember the good, rejoice that he is free of pain, and remember the reason for the season. It was a hard day, but had some good times with my parents that I can always remember.
Merry Christmas with love to everyone who's been on another 365 journey with me,
