Photography concept
The camera is used instead of the brush.
expresses it with the camera.
I want to take a photograph like a watercolor painting.
I want to express the picture in the photograph.
I did not think I would be posting any more snow picture so soon, but we have had more snow and heavier than I have ever seen around here so there we go...

A beautiful setting for a visit from jolly old St. Nick! When he takes a seat, the children will gather around….
A few of the autumn leaves falling from the miniature acers in the rockery. A Yuta Segawa miniature vase, set on a round table in the sunshine with a bokeh background of planters .
Happy Bokeh Wednesday!

Half Dome as seen from Olmsted Point. I was surprised that I could see no one climbing to the top of Half Dome...perhaps because of the fire the trail head was closed.
A fine lone tree in the Forest of Bowland in Lancashire. Bowland is not a forest at all in the usual sense. It's a rugged and wild upland landscape of moorland, blanket bog, farmland and the occasional lone tree.
Very pleased with how I perfectly framed the south tower in the lowest opening of the north tower...lol
[Written 10/28/15]:
My photoshoot today was quite an adventure! Previously, I had scouted some great locations for shooting landscapes in an area of Tampa surrounded by a nature preserve. I had my vantage point on a small hill all worked out, and was hoping for some sunrise magic with glorious shafts of sun beams piercing through the trees and a magnificently colored sky. Instead, in the darkness as I was driving to the site, it started raining cats & dogs. I muttered a few choice words under my breath, but then figured, "That's what they make umbrellas for!"
So I parked my car and with umbrella in hand, trekked out in the rain to "my spot". Fortunately, the rain let up after a while, but the sky was still so cloudy that I couldn't even see where the sun was rising. Despite the moisture in the air creating an ethereal mist, my shot wasn't happening... there was no magic. Maybe my "great" location wasn't so great after all! So I started moving around, and the moment I framed the waterlillies floating in the water amidst the glorious autumn treees in the mist, I could feel the magic. I shot and shot many exposures and positions, and unexpectedly, one good shot after another presented itself for the next hour.
I left the site with an utterly exhilerated feeling. That rush... isn't that what nature photography is all about??? :)
ein sonniges Wochenende euch allen...
