Class 375 electric multiple unit No. 375809 crosses Wincheap after calling at Canterbury East station with 1P32, the 10:05 Dover Priory and Ramsgate to London Victoria service on Sunday 19th November 2017.
Wincheap is a major route into Canterbury from the south-west. Just beyond the bridge the road continues on a straight line into the core of the medieval city, becoming Castle Street on the way, although today that straight line is interrupted by a roundabout where it intersects with the post-war ring road.
This was a one take photo, I had to leave my camera on a self timer on the ground and rush into the image to get the shot just before the sun dipped below the horizon. Once I got back to check the shot, the sunset was gone.

timing - in shots like this, it's fascinating to see the different effects you can get from the same shot really - it all depends on which seconds you capture!
I got the timing perfect here. 6 second exposure. All of the lights on the front of the locomotive do not illuminate simultaneously. But they were all caught illuminated with the long exposure. Read the notes for explanation of each light.
The dispatcher called the Oglevie cop on me just as I was leaving, who turned out to be a really nice guy. He said I had to leave though.
For this photo I invested about three hours and about 500 shots. In between i had to wait for new ice cubes because i needed too many attempts :D
after taking the shot i was another 2 hours in photoshop, processing the picture/
Für das Bild habe ich knapp 3 Stunden und über 500 Bilder gebraucht, bis es im Kasten war. Zwischendrin sind mir die Eiswürfel ausgegangen und ich musste auf neue warten :D es war einfach zu warm und sie sind schneller davongelaufen, als man schauen konnte.
Danach habe ich nochmal weitere 2 Stunden in Photoshop für die EBV benötigt.

We often reiterate on the importance of timing. This image was about that. I recently made a long road trip to tulip farms 3 states across. And we were late by a whisker. While a few farms were completely topped in Skagit Valley, some like this patch in Woodburn was plucked/topped here and there leaving a pleasing view of the partially topped rows of Tulips.
I found the fallen rows of petals in between kind of melancholic.

As I looked down at my phone to view the eta of this bus, I was greeted with the sight of it rushing at 30mph with nobody on board. I grabbed my camera just in time. But I wasn't succsessful
The weather in the UK has certainly improved today which, I hope, is perfect timing for my ten day break starting tomorrow which I shall be spending in a very pretty rural area of the UK. So boys and girls I'll see you again in ten days time.

For this photo I really wanted to capture the idea of time as my greatest asset. This photo was mainly centered around the discovery that I had a giant glass hourglass. I think the photo captured the interesting idea of the evolution of time-telling and time itself.
I think the combination of the three devices are all centered around the fact that they are all ways to tell time. All of the devices are different, especially the hourglass, but they are all similar in the fact that they can be used to tell time.
Photography is all about finding the right angle and moment at the same time. Think about it... Eventually it all comes down to timing.
Offcourse, you need light but when the moment is wrong you won`t capture the real essence.
Take this scene for instance, I`ve been here lots of times, passing by and not seeing the potential of the scene. But tonight, I accidently looked back and got struck by the lines, the angle of light and the magnificent colors.
I quickly changed lenses and slapped on the DA15mm F4 ltd and searched for a nice angle.
2 minutes later the moment was gone and the sun wasn`t even down yet.
Josie's timing could not have been better. The skeleton popped up at Ricky's eye level causing them to meet face to face. "Sweet," she thought.
To be honest, Josie was relieved when her friends finally arrived. She was ready to get out of there.

Sometimes, great timing happens and everything connects for one short moment in life and makes you feel present in the universe.
As I was turning from a corner, I saw these delightful autumnal colours around the red brick wall and there walked a lovely young person dressed in perfect matching colours with Nature. At that very moment, she had the same thoughts--as I learned a minute later--and that's when I stopped her for a portrait.
It was easy to talk to Riina, 23y/o, almost 24, in a fortnight. She acted naturally in front of my camera and my camera loved her. She become one with these delightful autumnal colours.
Riina is a student of philosophy; her reflections upon my questions emphasised her deep thoughts about the subjects I had asked her. However, as she was on her way to support the
Extinction Rebellion, the global environmental movement's manifestation in town, we didn't have time to discuss, but she promised to answer my questions by email.
I sent her the photos and have received her answers which I attach hereby:
"When one is asked about "The Meaning of Life" I like to paraphrase whomever it was--I don't remember where I heard this and whether I'm remembering it right--who said that life does not have a meaning per se, but things within life have meanings, which I think, gets formed through specific subject's experiences and that same subjects relations to things they bump into within these experiences.
I'm talking about the meanings of life since those things that have a meaning or meanings to this specific subject, are the things that inspire me and are connected, I think, to all the your questions. So, at this moment in time I'm rather into--which means deeply in love with--books, philosophy, dancing, nature, especially forests, humour, especially satire, animals, especially dolphins, art, history, solitude, walking, writing and, I guess, thinking. These are the things I do in life, that I like to do in my spare time and what inspire me.
What I love about myself is that I'm insanely curious--it brings a lot of meaning to my existence and keeps me, most of the time, rather satisfied, by which I mean excited and joyful. Interestingly, it seems that the more curious you are, the more curious you get; and the more curious you get, the more you get the learn. And I've had some amazing luck with ending up being this almost strangely inquisitive person. I really dig it!
The Younger-Me question was to me definitely the easiest to answer; I would advice her to not be so deeply afraid of feelings, to not think of them as something one should wish to get rid of or worse, hide them and imagine them non-existent. It would have made things a lot easier, I suppose, if I'd understood feelings as mentionable, understandable, acceptable and manageable and not as some kind of demonic and horrible signs-of-weaknesses.
And I thought a lot about what I would say to the world, but I suppose I can't imagine myself being a worthy advice-giver, since I'm myself actively trying to find a way to flourish. However, there's this one thought-provoker I like, which often helps me to answer a question of what it is that I "ought" to do in any specific situation; that is, "Imagine a person who would be in your opinion morally 'perfectly good'. How would they act in this situation?" I like this since it leaves us to imagine our own kind of goodness and own kind of perfection--which in my case means a person who definitely is not "perfect" in all kinds of situations, not even in most situations--and I don't have to end up implying that I'd know better about living a flourishing life than I do. It's kind of a version of "What would [...] do?" but a more imaginative one."

I frequent this area quite often whenever I am in downtown Vancouver. For quite some time I have wanted to take a photograph at this busy intersection, but there had always been lots of challenges; overly crowded, wrong positioning, incorrect path taken by pedestrian. I guess this is as good as it gets.
