Looking forward to seeing some iconic locations again soon. Some are always busy, but it's still a pleasure to be there.
Derwent Water is always busy, as I found back in 2019 for this image - finding a perfect view can be tricky sometimes...

What would a trip to Arizona be without a Bobcat. We were fortunate to find this first year kitten roaming around. She was hunting on her own and stopped to pose for this classic photo.
No real story here, it just made me laugh. I do try to take my photography seriously, I do. I just could not resist. If I told you he was at Machu Picchu you would all say ts ok. He was on San Juan Island if that makes it any more valid to post. Enjoy.

The boat was moored but the tall mast was swaying like a pendulum and it took me about 40 shots and a lot of running around to get the sun and the mast just right.
It got really windy here. Like, hold onto your hat windy! I laid down on the dock to get this male Bufflehead Duck bobbing up and down. One tough duck to shoot anyhow. You need perfect light to get all those beautiful colors on the head. Shark River NJ.
Set up my camera for macro shot of the flowers and this moth/butterfly landed and made a great macro photo bomb.
When routine bites hard and ambitions are low
And resentment rides high but emotions won't grow
And we're changing our ways, taking different roads
Love, love will tear us apart again
Love, love will tear us apart again
Why is the bedroom so cold turned away on your side?
Is my timing that flawed, our respect run so dry?
Yet there's still this appeal that we've kept through our lives
Love, love will tear us apart again
Love, love will tear us apart again
Do you cry out in your sleep, all my failings exposed?
Get a taste in my mouth as desperation takes hold
Is it something so good just can't function no more?
But love, love will tear us apart again
Love, love will tear us apart again
This stallion ( on the left) was trying to cozy up to some of the females who had young foals. The females seemed annoyed with him haha.

I am a lover of words and tragically beautiful things, poor timing and longing, and all things with soul, and I wonder if that means I am entirely broken, or if those are the things that have been keeping me whole.
A timing effort I probably couldn’t pull of again no matter how hard I tried. Guinness hopped out of the car and had some fun running around in the fields while Mattbro and I lensed up the passing KBS train headed for Lafayette on the “diagonal” portion of the railroad near Otterbein. I knew he passed in front of me while I was laying in the field bursting away, but it wasn’t until looking through them later that I realized that in one particular image, his back legs more-or-less framed up the lead unit, and one of his front legs nicely covered up an ugly high-tension power pole blocking the train.
I thought the resulting image was pretty enjoyable to look at and made a great memory.

Timing is everything when you want to photograph birds

Yeah, I know they're 'just' Mute Swans, but I couldn't not take this shot as the pair drifted through water rendered black by the reflection of the black barge behind them.
Yesterday I saw you three times in three different places, calling to me. And so I knew you were now ready for your love letter and picture! You are such a beautiful bird living in the pine forests of western America. I’ve known you for decades and admired you, but you know what? This is the first time I’ve ever photographed you!
Since I don’t have enough lens power to find you in the dark forest, I made an exception for you and came with a food offering to the picnic tables in the park. With giddy anticipation, I laid out a collection of unsalted peanuts on multiple tables. Within less than 60 seconds, the first party guests arrived, two crows, and they made some noise to let others know. I was hoping word would reach you as well – and so it did! Soon I spotted you high up in a tree, waiting in the background while the two crows sampled the goods. They spent a great deal of time trying to fit two and even three peanuts at once into their beaks before flying off. Did you see that? It made me laugh.
Once the crows had begun to feel satisfied, you astutely calculated the exact timing for your own visits to be immediately following beak-filled crow departures. My, what a hippety-hoppety character you are, skipping and hopping all over the place! Your jaunty crest gives you a very smart look, and you move quicker than Bruce Lee! I’m terribly happy that you presented yourself to be part of my project, and I adore you!
Be the true blue hopper in the pines!

After watching an eastbound pass by in Durand where the sun started to come out after a couple of isolated storms skirted the area to the north, I saw that L514 was ready to leave Flint after the eastbound got past them in Flint. I went east hoping the cloud line would keep moving east and let that sky work for the afternoon westbound. After a lot of waiting, and anxiously watching the train slowly get closer, the cloud line and blue skies were slowly coming, but it was going to be close. With about 45 seconds to spare, the clouds cleared out, the sky opened up, and the sun cast a warm glow on the land and blackened the sky.
The challenge with shooting the male Ruby-throated Hummingbird is to catch them with their gorget lit up. The Black & Bloom is finally blooming and my other plants are close to blooming. So I'll have more opportunities. My backyard.
Earlier this year CP ran a CWR train along the Galt Sub dropping rail in various locations before continuing south down the Hamilton Sub. While working their way east, the consist was left tied down on the Killean Storage Track on Galt's east side one evening giving local photographers the opportunity for night shots of the London-built SD40-2.
With the time change 'springing ahead' during the night, I was afforded an extra hour of darkness in the morning, with just enough time to grab a few shots after work before the sun came up.

Flickr friends, what do you think ? This is the original, straight out of the camera, but I thought it looked a bit squintbso I cropped it, see version 2. But now I think they both look a bit squint, it's irritating,,because the one I posted on IG is more satisfactory, but theynwon't let me share! Oh well , if anyone has time I'd appreciate your comments :)
