This is not the main harbour of Stockholm. This is the end of a bay where pleasure boats are moored.

Enough of me!!!

This is Kiwi, and she let me take her picture. She belongs to a friend and I mentioned wanting to take a picture of Kiwi, so she said, I will leave the door unlocked, just go in and get her and grab some treats and make a go of it. She was extremely well behaved, she sat and she stayed and she posed. I got down on her level, my camera was basically @ ground level, used my 85mm, shot wide open for that creamy background, and my flash was mounted and diffused~

This is what balsomroot is supposed to look like. Please check out my previous mutant balsomroot...it's so cool!

This is a more natural color correction than the first version. I prefer this to the previous but I was attempting to link that image to the tomb image where there was more red coming from behind.

the past four years have led up to this movie.

what started as a documentation of a single month, ended up being the memories of the last few months of high school.

This is the first time I've been to a movie premier! It was a ton of fun. My friends and I got to walk the red carpet where we saw Paul Walker and Vin Diesel giving interviews to ET. I can't stop smiling :).

This image is a compilation of three images from Envisat’s radar and shows where southwestern Africa’s Okavango River empties into the inland Okavango Delta in northern Botswana. The Okavango River originates in Angola, forms part of the Angola Namibia border and then ends in northern Botswana. Here, it has formed a depression in the semi-arid Kalahari basin. Appearing purple at the centre of the image is Chief’s Island. In the lower-right portion of the image we can see a large cluster of radar reflections from the town of Maun. At the top of the image, a triangle with similar colouring to the delta can be seen. This is a swamp area and national park located mostly in Namibia.

This is a part of the "Quinta da regaleira" in Sintra (Portugal, west of Lisbon). A very beautiful place to visit

This car took part in the Italian Historic Car Cup race at the Silverstone Classic meeting in July 2010. It's the 1969 4,993cc V12 Ferrari 512S of Carlos Monteverde who shared the driving in the hour long race with Gary Pearson. Twenty five examples of the Ferrari 512 were produced, allowing it to be homologated into the FIA's Group 5 Sports Car Category, and this car is chassis 1016. It was developed to challenge the Porsche 917 in the International Championship for Makes but won only one race in the 10 round Championship (Ignazio Giunti/Nino Vacarella/Mario Andretti at Sebring in 1970), although the Ferrari team picked up two second and four third places to finish that season in second place to Porsche.

This is my thing. I love nature and I love what she can give to us. Insects and flowers are my favorites, so I love take a walk in my back country and shoot some picture about this beautiful earth we're on.

This was almost impossible to focus with almost no light and f/5.6 max apperture (the shutter speed you see on the right is 20s, not 1/20, and there's further +0.5 exposure compensation in post). It turned out decently enough though.

In other news, my tripod seems to be able to stand light wind when almost fully extended, so that's good.

This was inspired by daydreaming!

This is me in total.

This is a special place, this remote lonely beach, the rocks spread out across the beach. The sound of the sea rolling back and forward and it was getting dark. Delighted to be on explore once more and really chuffed that this picture rose during the day to 270

This handsome young medical officer is wearing a zyl rimmed fingerpiece pince-nez. This type of eyeglass became extremely popular during the 1915-1920 era especially among young people.. The U.S. army recommended pince-nez eyeglasses is the ideal eyewear because of the ease of using a gas mask since spectacles have arms or temples which made them uncomfortable under a gas mask.

During the 1860-1930 era the term eyeglasses meant pince-nez, a word not often used at the time in English speaking countries.

This is Peter - whose chequered pink flat cap and beard caught my attention in Aldi. After the traditional 'approach conversation' of street portrait shooters was over he then asked me if I was the police - with the explanation that the 'nosy buggers get everywhere these days' - my denial worked (it ought to - I'm not!) and we got onto the topic of his pink flat cap. He informed that that he wasn't wearing it that day - had his Trilby on - and did I know him from somewhere else when he *was* wearing his flat cap. I showed him a shot on the camera LCD, with flat cap, and then he said he thought I was 'mad' for mistaking a Trilby for a cap and were all photographers as barking as I was? smile emoticon

He then proudly showed me his new bike - that he bought not that long ago - and stated that the man he'd bought it off felt guilty for over-charging him and gave him a human, yet plastic, skeleton in a bag as a gift. This was duly fixed to the rear luggage carrier and Peter then cycled home along Oxfordshire's roads wondering why cars behind kept honking their horns. He discovered that the bag had come open and that the skull had been doing a nodding parcel-shelf dog impression for the previous 10 miles.

Peter was a great character - and I spent an enjoyable 15 minutes chatting with a traditional British eccentric - somebody who our society has thankfully not yet ironed out in its quest for removing diversity.

This last month or so of work has been especially sucky. I ended up pulling an all-nighter this weekend to finish a piece of work, but finally - a spot of respite on the horizon...

So I was full of hubris about Sideshow Nathan Drake, and thinking I could do better. Big talk. Ordered Sculpey Firm on eBay. It was sitting on my desk when I got back to the office this afternoon, and I was itching to have a play.

First thoughts? I like how this clay handles; I've never actually used it before. I'm attempting Drake from the Uncharted 4 sculpts; this is night one's progress. Watch this space.

Also: anyone out there able to suggest how I might go about fitting him a neck to a body...?

SN/NC: Syagrus romanzoffiana, Arecaceae Family

This is a palm with an identity crisis! A few decades ago the queen palm was assigned the name Cocos plumosa. During the late sixties and seventies most experts began referring to it as Arecastrum romanzoffianum. Now this queen has been placed in the genus Syagrus, the species name became romanzoffiana - hopefully Syagrus romanzoffiana will stick! The Queen palm is mostly found in Subtropical areas. It was once very popular as a garden tree; but in areas like Southern California where the climate is considerably dryer, it has since been taken over by other palms, such as Archontophoenix cunninghamiana, and other Archontophoenix as well, it is still the dominate pinnate palm, in places like Central Florida, where it thrives on the humidity, and tolerates the occasional 25 degree F. nights. Its fruit is edible to wildlife, often being sought after by birds. It was originally classified in the Coconut or Cocos genus, was moved to Arecastrum, then Syagrus. As a result of this, they often retain a previous name in retail trade. Usually called the "Cocos plumosa palm". (Palmpedia.net)

(Palmpedia.net)

SN/NC: Agapanthus Africanus, Fam. Amarylidaceae

The great majority is purple-blue. This one is a bit intermediate between white, purple and blue. Agapanthus /ˌæɡəˈpænθəs/ is the only genus in the subfamily Agapanthoideae of the flowering plant family Amaryllidaceae. The family is in the monocot order Asparagales. The name is derived from scientific Greek: αγάπη (agape) = love, άνθος (anthos) = flower.

Some species of Agapanthus are commonly known as lily of the Nile (or African lily in the UK), although they are not lilies and all of the species are native to Southern Africa (South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique) though some have become naturalized in scattered places around the world (Australia, Great Britain, Mexico, Ethiopia, Jamaica, etc.) (Wikipedia)

Huh,I've been so busy these days.Have to wake up at 6 am in the morning and then,I come back from my company around 7pm.Don't have slightest idea whats gonna happen to me in the near future :-(.

Took this shot 2 weeks back when I went to Goa to enjoy my two days holidays.

Have a nice day everyone!!!

This is the Peace Tower lit up with snowflakes for the Christmas Season. It's shot through the arches of the west entrance to the East Block building of Parliament.

Now that the holidays are here I'm hoping to be able to check out people's streams. Sorry for the long absence!

'This is a small dragonfly that spends long periods perched on vegetation, walls, fences and even garden canes and washing lines. It suddently darts out from its perch in pursuit of a fly and often returns to the same perch.

It is a very common species in England, Wales and Ireland, less common in Scotland.

Only mature male common darters are red. Females and newly-emerged males are a pale greeny-brown colour'..

This species rarely visits my backyard in the Texas Hill Country. The Inca Dove had a significant impact on the native American tribes and on the westward bound settlers, traders, trappers, explorers, and other human critters who ventured across the arid expanse of the southwestern frontiers. You could bet your life that the flight of an Inca Dove would lead you directly to the nearest water hole!

...And I love it that way too! ...And I know you love it too!

Evening of Day Two at Keystone 2015 had me wearing this ensemble to the bar for a last drink before retiring to take up my flickr- um... responsibilities!

This ensemble is built around this incredibly snug fitting black vinyl & red lycra spandex minidress with laser cutouts on the left side & arm that came from greatglam.com. I've matched it up with my black Platino Luxe 40 denier pantyhose worn over Hanes Alive Barely There support hose from onehanesplace.com and finished off with my black vinyl peep toe platform pumps from venus.com.

This will be my last upload for a few days as I've now run out of new stuff! Plus we're away this weekend, and the forecast isn't that great so it might be a while before I'm able to upload anything new. But I shall keep looking at all your lovely shots and leaving some comments.

So it was out into my back garden as the little pink weed is back again! This was taken using my nifty fifty and the good old Raynox DCR250 and my homemade flash diffuser :-)

Thanks for taking the time to visit. Any comments or faves are appreciated

This large, flashy hummingbird is a common resident throughout much of the Andes, where it inhabits lush cloud forest and frequently visits feeders. Note the white breast patch and long, straight bill. The white tail markings really stand out when it flares its tail, which it often does when interacting with other hummers around feeders. Male is darker than female, sometimes almost black, which makes his colorful crown patch more evident. Birds found south of central Peru and north of the Colombia-Venezuela border region are now considered to be separate species, Gould’s Inca and Green Inca respectively.

This one was photographed in Ecuador guided by Neotropic Photo Tours.

This is a picture I deliberately made gray. Taken on a not sunny day, post processing reduced the already dark green even more.

The picture was taken with the Nikkor AF-S 50 mm/1.4G, to get the unsharp plant double in the background.

This is Kirkhill Castle in the small village of Colmonell, in the Stinchar valley of south Ayrshire. Although long roofless, it still stands fairly complete to its wallhead, next to the more modern house that superseded it. There was nobody home when I visited, although I could hear the sounds of lawn mowing coming from the garden behind, so I took a couple of photos from the drive, which show most of what there is to see, and went on my way.

This is the view towards the west end of the beach in Nice. Don't tell people who annoy you, but Nice is a really nice place.

This is my second Project 365 (taking a photo every day for the current calendar year). The last one I did was in 2013. This is a candid shot of my wife Carole slicing up roast beef for our New Year’s dinner. With the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, we were limited to a very small gathering of our children that are part of our household/bubble.
