This Facel Vega was first owned by notorious playboy diplomat Porfirio Rubirosa, member of the inner circle of Dominican dictator Rafael "El Benefactor" Trujillo, whose daughter was his first wife. Passionate about polo and motor racing, Rubirosa twice completed at Le Mans, but did not finish on both occasions. He was five times married - twice to multi-millionairesses - and had many famous mistresses. This Facel Vega has been body-off restored to its original specification throughout.

This is properly the most famous walk on the Island and definitely the busiest. The ‘Old Man’ is a large pinnacle of rock that stands high and can be seen for miles around. As part of the Trotternish ridge the Storr was created by a massive ancient landslide, leaving one of the most photographed landscapes in the world.

The Storr walk uses the same path up and down, starting & returning at the same point (the carpark). It covers a distance of 3.8km, with the average time to complete the walk being 1 hour 15 minutes (with no stops).

We have classed this walk as ‘Medium’ in length and ‘Medium’ for difficulty, check the rating guide for details.

The Old Man of Storr is located on the north of Skye in the area known as ‘Trotternish’. The start of the walk is by the main road from Portree to Staffin.

This vehicle was on Southeastern Trains Rail Replacement Services from Herne Bay to Margate, along with vehicles from Travelmasters, Crosskeys Coaches, Bayliss and GO Ahead London.

This amazing restaurant lost its lease at its original location near Kennestone Hospital. They’ve relocated to S. Marietta Parkway at Manget Street. They make awesome burgers. We’ve never had breakfast there, so I cannot write about that. I’ll bet it’s good!

This is a lightly-edited version of an image kindly provided by Gordon Hawkins. Although not my favourite, the livery style has been selected to not replicate the retro-liveries carried by 071 and 073. I believe that this was the final iteration of the traditional orange livery, with the second style of Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) logo and ‘high visibility’ panels of questionable value (07-May-22).

This quiet place is in Epcot.

This is a model of a 2003 Mercedes Sprinter Essex Police Carrier which is based at Chelmsford. The model comes complete with riot shields over the front windscreen and rear light clusters. The model also has blue light units fitted in the upper roof to the front and a rear step has also been added. Down each side and on the rear doors windows have been added in the correct sizes for a Essex Police carrier. The model comes with correct markings including traditional yellow stripe, yellow/red rear chevrons, VG and call sign number on the sides as well as the correct roof codes and index plates. The model also has the taking a lead in making essex safer slogan on the side doors. The model is a one off conversion that I built some time ago, uploaded for Chris as he wanted to see some more Essex 1/43rd scale models!

This place was used as a set for the movie "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction"

This species is a regular nester up here. It often chooses a protected nest site under the eaves of our cabin or garage. They typically raise a handful of chicks, and are kept busy going back and forth with insect catches. While there are other Empid Flycatchers up here, this species by far predominates. The other likely candidate is the Hammond's... it is said to have a grayer (not olive) back.

This calf could have been no more than a day or two old judging by the cleanliness of it's nose and hooves. It made such a sweet sight

These wonderfully regal but declining colours can be seen in Salisbury Cathedral.

This has just come into bloom for us indoors, one of three in a pot, with the usual glorious scent.

This nest platform is adjacent to the tour-route road that circles through this refuge. It was being tended full time by this bird... she's likely the female tending eggs. Her partner brings food to her during this period... she kept calling for him. (After about twenty minutes of male no-show I moved on.) On a later revisit I did manage to image the Osprey pair on this nest.

While making this shot I was laying with my butt, back and face in the stinging nettles but, as usual, more effort means a bigger reward :)

This is an image from my collection. Although predominantly slide scans, it includes other types of media as well. All have been collected over the past 40+ years of shooting Kodachrome and digital images, slide purchases and many years of exchanging. I was fortunate enough to trade with some of the best airliner photographers around the world.

Created in 2017, this is a curated archive that serves to share what otherwise would be kept in binders and boxes, not being enjoyed by anyone, myself included.

This is another one of the dogs we met on Sunday with the old man. This one is Oliver and he is 14 and kept wanting me to throw a stick even though he wasn't really fit enough to do much running. So I just tossed it a couple of feet so he felt I was making an effort, then he waddled off very slowly to retrieve it:-)

He reminds me of a dog my mother had for 17 years

This snack of a perch was a little to much for the youngster so the adult polished it off

This bridge spans the Menai Straits and was designed by Robert Stephenson. It was originally opened in 1850, until a fire in 1970, when it was closed, refurbished and then reopened in 1980.

This figure is purely based off of Lego Marvel Superheroes the Video Game! But I also added Excalibur because he uses it in the comics. I had to wait a while to finish this figure because I wanted to recycle my old Flash Helmet.

This model car was number 52 in Asahi’s Model Pet range of die-cast toy cars. It was made in Japan to 1:42nd scale and issued in 1973. Features include opening bonnet with detailed engine, opening boot, opening doors, detailed interior with tipping seats, spring suspension, whizz type wheels and plated parts.

The Kishi Toy Co., Ltd. were founded in 1931 changing their name to the Asahi Toy Company in 1948. Father Christmas with the company's initials "ATC" printed across the sack became their trademark from 1955. Still using ATC as initials a trading division, the Asahi Trading Company, was founded in 1955. With this venture the company became both a manufacturer of toys and an importer. Products they imported into Japan included die-cast toy cars from British companies Lone Star, Corgi Toys and Dinky Toys along with American kits from Monogram and AMT.

Before making die-cast models Asahi became famous for its range of tinplate toy cars that included a 16” 1962 Chrysler Imperial which is generally considered to represent the highest level of realism ever attained in tinplate. No wonder this model was selected for the cover of the book “Collecting The Tin Toy Car 1950 - 1970”.

The Model Pet range were introduced in October 1959. Earlier models had flat spun wheel hubs clearly inspired by Corgi Toys of this period. A steady stream of models were issued annually until 1967 with only one being released in 1968. A slight hiatus ensured and new models came out in 1971. These had the now standard whizz type wheels and were fitted to all subsequent issues. This may explain the gap in new releases as time would have been needed to develop this new wheel type. However, it could that is Asahi decided to pull out of the model car market but then changed their minds. Seven models were issued in 1973 and these turned out to be the last additions to the Model Pet range. Miniature replicas of cars to 1:42nd scale dominated the Model Pet range. However, there were a small number of motorcycles some fitted with sidecars to 1:30th scale available in this range. Commercial vehicles were represented by a Toyota Land Cruiser and a second generation Toyota Toyoace truck.

In 1978 Asahi introduced two new model car ranges. These were the toy like Sigma 500 series with whizz type wheels to around 1:54th scale aimed at children and the upmarket Sigma 143 range designed for the collectors market to 1:43rd scale. Although there were releases to both these ranges in early 1979 unfortunately Asahi went out of business later in that year.

This is an art piece hanging in the Erotic Museum on Hollywood Blvd. I had the original hanging on my bedroom wall.

This is the reason that when we pulled the front panel off, the front offside timber was snapped in half! It was damaged in an accident in the 1980's and obviously cobbled back together! Thanks to Len Nield for the picture.

this place had always been associated with the upper class flea market since it opened in the late 1980's. previously done in the open space of the shopping centre, now, it has become integral of the open space within the confines of the mall with 24/7 air conditioning and away from the elements of the natural environment. christmas ushers in a lot of bargain hunters including tourists who just wants to experience the hustling and the bustling without the heat and humidity. towards christmas this place can become jampacked, as in literally crowded with people, shoulder to shoulder, making it very difficult to traverse through. but, it is christmas and most people shrug off the inconvenience and just enjoy the moment

This was more of a test image as conditions were less than perfect! First off there was much much more light pollution on this beach than I thought there would be. Secondly, the weather! It was cloudy/hazy. Finally, equipment, my tracking mount refused to work even though I was sure I managed to fix it earlier in the day! Because of this I had to use a fixed tripod and was limited to 30 sec exposures so I had to set the lens wide open (F1.8) and ISO high (1600). This along with the haze and cloud resulted in a very noisy image. So as I said more of a test image but thought I would share it anyway.

This photo is for my friend whose health has taken a bad turn. Get well good friend.💜

Yesterday, Scott says in a worried tone, "OOOhh, tomorrow is Friday the 13th!" I said, "Oh honey, it's all a bunch of b.s., don't worry."

So today comes and we take Spot for a walk and then go our separate ways to begin our day. Scott had a GREAT day but me, not so good...and I'm the one who doesn't believe Friday the 13th is a bad luck day.

Oh, and when was the last time you fell?? I straight up fell today- like a little kid! I'm ok though, I guess you really can't hurt yourself too much if you're only 5 ft tall............besides, I was able to throw my body on the grass and roll right back up, ninja style..... Ok, maybe not that fast, but I don't think anyone saw. (Except Spot)

Also, I think I'm getting sick. :-/ This is NOT good... (like it ever is, right?) So, I'm sucking on throat lozenges, having chicken soup and going to bed early, hopefully I won't have to give up a lucrative day tomorrow.

A little side note: Just so we're all on the same page, I never want to give anyone the impression that I'm a certain way when I'm not. I do believe in Friday the 13th...I just don't believe it's a "bad luck" day.........at least not for women. In college I took some class where we covered superstitions, symbolism and how certain things got started, like Friday the 13th.

Supposedly, women would come together in large groups, and if you believe in the power of prayer, then you know how strong it can be when a large group of people come together, especially women. So they light a fire and they'd pray for what they wanted and needed, they'd hold hands in a circle and each one take turns saying their prayer. A group of men discovered them and they were hung, accused of being witches. So.....I always light a candle and say a little prayer. Me falling is due to me just being a klutz. :-p
