helped us wash our cars today... he jumped back and forth between cars and let me get right up in his face to take this shot. Tree frogs are the coolest :)

Madrugada - This Old House
This was the home of Theodore and Mildred Hoover. Theodore was the manager of the Standard Mill and lived in this house for about three years.
Theodore was the brother of the would-be President Herbert Hoover, who occasionally visited Bodie – but that was long before he was president. At the time, Herbert was working as a mining engineering in California and Colorado. But he did stay here at the Hoover home while in town.

Hello to all of you. Welcome to my corner of the world. Thank you for stopping by. If you like this image - and it seems a lot of you do - why don't you stop a while and look at my photo stream - there are 100's more just as good or better in many cases.
Thanks again.
This was the BA 777 which crash landed just short of runway 27L at Heathrow on January 17 2008, operating BAW38 from Beijing.
Seen here approaching the same runway back in December 2003. Photo uploaded on January 17 2025 - exactly 17 years after the accident.
I shot this same comp a year ago at Alkali Pond in the Eastern Sierras, CA and wanted to try it again. Rich Bitonti joined me for several days during this trip which was fun. Unfortunately it was extremely windy which made shooting lakes difficult. Tioga Pass was also closed which really sucked. I guess spring is arriving late this year. Anyway, I did manage some pretty good shots despite the conditions so I'll post those later.

This old window is located along my favorite hiking trail. I'm always fascinated by what is actually in the window. I still have no idea what it is!
Happy Window Wednesday!
This bee couldn't wait for the mutabilis rose to open, and gave a nice view of that abdomen - Happy Bug Butt Thursday!
When I was younger, with my mom's help, I planted a jellybean in my garden. Planting it deep into the soil. I was two people in that moment: one who felt childhood optimism that perhaps this shop-bought jelly bean sweet could grow into a plant, the other part of me knew it would only rot and remain in the ground. Both versions held some truth, both versions still live within me.
I try to exist as both people to this day, learning that they are both great ways to be. In fact, they're even stronger when together. It is up to us to choose our outlooks on life. Do we think about the "what ifs" with hope and child-like wonder, do we analyse and decide based on facts, or do we accumulate a willingness to see both as valid outlooks?

" Boys and girls of every age
Wouldn't you like to see something strange?
Come with us and you will see
This, our town of Halloween
This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Pumpkins scream in the dead of night
This is Halloween, everybody make a scene
Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright
It's our town, everybody scream
In this town of Halloween
I am the one hiding under your bed
Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red
I am the one hiding under your stairs
Fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair
This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
In this town we call home
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song
In this town, don't we love it now?
Everybody's waiting for the next surprise
'Round that corner, man hiding in the trash can
Something's waiting no to pounce, and how you'll
Scream! This is Halloween
Red 'n' black, and slimy green
Aren't you scared?
Well, that's just fine
Say it once, say it twice
Take a chance and roll the dice
Ride with the moon in the dead of night
Everybody scream, everybody scream
In our town of Halloween!
I am the clown with the tear-away face
Here in a flash and gone without a trace
I am the "who" when you call, "Who's there?"
I am the wind blowing through your hair
I am the shadow on the moon at night
Filling your dreams to the brim with fright
This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
Halloween! Halloween! ... "

This is yet another of the photgraphs that I shot of the Breakwater Lighthouse from the point in the Cape Henlopen State Park. It was such a speical night with the layers of clouds. This was shot just after the sunset. Taken with a Nikon D7000 with a Nikkor 200-400mm f/4 zoom lens.
This is, "Charlie", I had the good fortune today to play with him some, and, take a few pictures.
He is one of those dogs that REALLY IS a, 'Good Boy". :)
He's a very big, "Good Boy" too, but very friendly.
His eyes are like nothing I have ever seen, the sclera's white is the whitest I have seen in my life.
He also has really clear, golden-brown irises that I have not seen, his eyes actually look like porcelain to me.
I hope to be able to take more photographs of him soon, I hope.
For me there is nothing better, on a dreary morning, than the recollection of a beautiful day spent in nature. It’s hard to beat the exhilaration of sharing space with bears in their own element. In a place where they have survived for millennia, we are only visitors, relegated to carving out small areas and brief seasons in which to live. Man, the most invasive species, has yet to this conquer this domain, and hopefully they never will. #BrownBears
This is my first experience to photography steelwool and I had lot of fun. But the weather was so stormy it was hard to protect my lens, so you can see some water drop on this picture. With luck the drops is well placed and add some bokeh light just in the right place.
I will do more picture like this one, in the futur that’s sure!
We found this inquisitive stray puppy in a small village in central Nepal, the ticks on his eyes didn't seem to stop him from wanting to play!

This Black Browed Albatross was photographed somewhere in the Southern Atlantic Ocean between Argentina and the Falkland Islands.
Whilst others on the boat were knocking back their cocktails I was often to be found out on deck, constantly being blown around whilst on the look out for seabirds. There were good numbers at times but the Black Browed Albatross and the Southern Giant Petrels were the two species that came close and showed interest. As such most of the photographs I took were of these two species. Both species but in particular the albatross hardly seemed to move a muscle and simply wheeled around floating on the updraft from the ocean.
My current Kitty. He has been with me for almost a year now and is just over 2 years old. He first showed up early last summer (2019). He would hang out in the backyard with my cat Fred who actually let him come around without fighting, they would sleep by each other in the yard and became friends. I could not even open the back door without him running off. There is a neighbor cat, female named Ivy, that always comes over to say hi. Well we would be out back in the evenings and she would come over and he would follow her but always stay back and hide in the shadows, hence his name. We would give her some food at times and after we had gone inside he would sneak over and eat. He was still not full grown and we realised that he had nowhere to live so I started feeding him. I had to go inside at first for him to eat. Finally around November he would let me stay outside as long as iI was 10 feet away. It turned cold and we put a large box up on a table by the back door that let him get out the wind and snow for the next 2 months. I still had to stand out in the cold with him while he ate with no contact. I had been moving closer as he ate and finally on New Years Eve he let me pet his head 3 times. That was all it took, from then on he had to be petted. He finally came inside about a week later, I had set his bowl just inside the door, had to leave the door open at first. he gradually felt more safe and actually would sleep for a bit inside in the warmth for a bit but still stayed outside most of the time. When he was inside he would stay by the back door the whole time. He got braver each day but still took like 2 months for him to come down the hall to my bedroom.
Took him to the vet, got his shots, got neutered and chipped. We bonded during this time and he calmed down and wasn't so scared of everything. Now he has turned into the gentlest, biggest play baby love kitty. I've had cats that had to be in the same room most of the time with me before, thats how they are. But he has to be within arms length of me at all times, my daughter says that if I walked off a cliff he would follow.
He still spends a lot of time outside, more than any other cat I've had and I worry when he's gone for more than a few hours like a parent, lol. Ivy comes by a couple times a day to say hi and collect him for what ever they go do.
By the way, Fred died in February this year, I had to have him put to sleep, was the hardest thing, holding him as he passed. But Shadow has been a blessing and I love him so much and he loves me so I look forward to our time together, thanks for letting me ramble.
P.S. - Anyone who has had a black cat knows how hard it is to get a good photo of them, you lose the features and such, they close their eyes and you can't see their face, lol.

This should be a interesting museum to visit 😊 on 5th Ave no less.
Captured this one in traffic, did a double take. Honestly don't think the bus driver knew about the advertisement.
I am so sick and tired of the supposed inconsistencies and lies around the downing of MH17. What if the western allies did it themselves through their proxy Ukraine? Will we ever know? And if we ever get to know the truth, how will we proceed from there with those lying governments?
This shot is of a grand building in Oxford, not sure what it is called, but somebody may be able to help me out!!
This is similar shot I had for RMNP earlier, but this one shows little more foreground than earlier version.

I went to see the cherry blossom at Hakone Gardens, a Japanese garden in Saratoga, California. The garden was open at night for a short period of time. This scene at the driveway was greeting me when I left.
I processed a balanced, a paintery, and and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive feedback.
