Jakriborg is a housing estate in Hjärup between Malmö and Lund in Scania, southern Sweden. Jakriborg's architectural style is inspired by pre-industrial town architecture found in the coastal region of the southern Baltic and the North Sea. Of which the old Hansa City of Lübeck is the best known.
I am the clown with the tear-away face
Here in a flash and gone without a trace
I am the "who" when you call, "Who's there?"
I am the wind blowing through your hair
I am the shadow on the moon at night
Filling your dreams to the brim with fright
This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
Halloween! Halloween!
This is from April at Nisqually NWR. It's not a composite of two pictures (otherwise, it would be waaay better), it's just a weird thing that I was lucky to see happen.
It's hard to tell in this shot, but the bald eagle is chasing the peregrine falcon. It does give you a pretty good idea how much bigger eagles are than peregrine falcons.
This is one interesting bird that we have only spotted at Elk Grove Park. The domestic Swan Goose came from Asia. the Swan Goose, native to eastern Eurasia and sometimes called a Chinese goose. A domestic swan goose usually has a large knob at the base of the bill (the wild form lacks this). It also can show a white patch behind the bill. It varies from wild type coloring (mostly gray with a dark line down the back of the otherwise white neck) to pure white. This species is very territorial and had no fear walking up to our dog Louie and hissing. Yes, our Louie got the message and backed off very quickly.
Tonight I learnt the difference between a recently rained upon mole hill and a fresh recently rained upon cow pat by feel !
This is just one half of a divisible zipper, I rolled it up and I like how it looks now :)
This is about 1,5 inch wide.
Happy Macro Monday.

This highly social and intelligent species is well adapted to a semi-aquatic life-style. Male and female California sea lions differ significantly in appearance. Males are substantially bigger than females and have an enlarged sagittal crest, which is usually topped with white fur.
I followed this old boy for about 20 minutes, and every 50 feet, or so, he would stop and spend several minutes in this pose, sniffing the air so powerfully I could hear it clearly. There were at least half a dozen of more doe's nearby, and he was out to find where those girls were hiding. There was going to be a party at Fort Worden tonight.
This little guy has been going through a few changes....all of a sudden he is a bit anxious and runs and hides from visitors. But he is lovable and sweet and funny and playful. So I pray every night that I can figure out what is going on so he can just enjoy his life!
This eagle was on a tank near the grain terminal. I was taking some head and shoulder shots when it dropped and and flew low overhead. The rest of my shots were basically belly, wing, and tail shots.

This little fantail was being my best friend along the river path staying with me for quite a while as it flitted to and fro catching bugs etc..
I had the Pentax with me for which I don't have a particularly long lens (160mm = 100mm approx in 35mm format) but decided to try and photograph it as it was occasionally quite close...

With the winter weather season wrapping up for now in the Southwest I thought now is the time to unload my one and only shot I've got form this winter (2020/2021). So here it is, BNSF 8348 and company with a hot Z-train headed for Texas at Summit. This was the only eastbound on the Cajon Sub in the morning due to most trains on the BNSF being held out due to a derailment that happened the afternoon/evening prior in Eastern Arizona. Combined with a lack of westbound traffic as well mixed in with the now super hit or miss Union Pacific LA&SL and Palmdale, this was the only train that got the limelight at Summit.
No time to engage or howl at the moon this morning as I have two beautiful grandchildren to look after. Arrived last night so as they caught up on their sleep I nipped out for some coastal therapy this morning. Which is nice. Have a lovely day.

SB CN train S750 wakes up the little town of Allenton, WI, with NS (Illinois Terminal) Heritage unit in the lead.
This Redshank seems to be contemplating his own reflection .
The long beak and the bright legs are distinctive Redshank
features. The long legs are very useful for wading soft mud and the beak is used to dig out insects, worms, mussels and small crustaceans .
This is a close-up photo of a strand of kelp frozen in brine ice at Clam Harbour Beach. I love the subtle pareidolia presence in this image of the bird with its head turned to the right, and the 'reclusive' faces in the center.
