This little section of the New River Trail is pretty awesome this time of year. Lots of blooms are starting come out. In just a couple weeks there will be a nice carpet of white. For now, just dew drops with a camera phone.

This day-flying moth (Nannobotys commortalis) is not much larger than a rice grain, and almost invisible when roosting on sand. But as with a lot of cryptic species, up close its pattern and coloration are anything but drab. I've found several of these in the Mojave Desert this spring.

Yes, I realise this topic has already been talked over many times on our humble photo gallery. This time however, we have another big developement in front of us.

The famous Polish ban on photography had not really been in power, no matter what any person said. You were fully permitted to photograph anything you want, as long as you were on public grounds, which is a reasonable idea. All is to change now though.

My first post in this "no photo" topic has been published on 6.02.2024, when the Polish Ministry of National Defence published a draft of the ordinance containing the description of a "Photography forbidden" sign, along with many other things. This ordinance is what is required for the photo ban to be implemented in practice, as per a law published all the way back in 2022. The draft remained all that, just a draft, up until... this very day, 3.04.2025. It is now a full-blown ordinance of the allmighty Minister himself.

The published version can be seen on the official government service Dziennik Ustaw - dziennikustaw.gov.pl/DU

The ordinance itself, numbered 432 can be seen here - dziennikustaw.gov.pl/DU/2025/432 - contains a PDF file with the ordinance and a graphical display of the sign.

From now on, any person responsible for the security of an object of critical infrastructure (whatever that means...) will be able to hang out these legal signs and there is nothing the poor citizen can do about this, even when standing on public grounds.

*The ordinance comes into effect 14 days after its publishing, you have time until the 17th of April. For real now.*

This time it was me screwing up. Or not unscrewing up; I left the orange filter I keep on the lens on my Speed Graphic on while shooting with New55 color. Oops. I kinda like the effect this time, but it's not a mistake I intend to repeat.

This male tree bumble bee was hanging around a nest that is somewhere in the middle of the garden Japanese anemone patch. Unlike the specimen posted previously he has managed to keep his hair on. He is furrier than the workers and has some brown hairs an his abdomen whereas they are all black.

This is a straight shot, not a composite. It has minimal processing except for some exposure adjustment, sharpening and noise reduction because it was taken at a higher ISO. There weren't many birds about, but lots of light planes. I was actually trying to get one crossing the Moon. But when I saw it wasn't going to cross the Moon I thought this framing would work well.

explored!

This shrine is at the corner of Jackson and Magazine streets in New Orleans. A couple weeks ago I saw a woman placing flowers at this site (before this makeshift shrine had been constucted) and I asked the woman what was up. She said a woman named Vera from the neighborhood died following Katrina and her body lay at this site for 10 days before being taken away (I seem to recall a Times-Picayune photo that captured it).

(And remember, it DIDN'T flood in this part of town).

This can be a bit long... but anyway.

I really want to thank the MMI for making this event & didn't kicked me out from the auditions that day, even when I was nervous & scared cause everything was all new to me, I found to be among friends & more experienced models.

Everyone gave their effort, but some gave their very best till the last moment being in the runway being very happy to be between them. I want to congratulate Gargantuella 3rd runner, Tara Aers 2nd runner & of course Dakota Lavarock who is the new Mrs, Model International 2020. I really won't forget our chats in auditions having fun to take away the tension.

I want to thank every Member each of the MMI from the organization, the great mentors as each one was helpful to us but the same time firm as they give great value to the competition & the rules they set. They really had much patience with each of us & also I'm grateful to the Sponsors for making it happen & be there as the audience to see us sometimes.

To my teachers from Reignn Agency of Modeling, teaching me much & even more during this time. To Richard who believed in me & to Victor who kept encouraged me to open more the fan of the creativity.

Not forgotten but as also important to my long list of thankfulness is my family, my very closest people & my friends being there in every show & sharing our opinions in the end.

Also i want to add that MMI was a good chance to learn things, meeting new people that later you will be glad to do a show together, surpassing yourself to your very limits keeping up with the demands & the rules that you still can respect & still you can create many more things keeping your mind open to alternatives of your abilities. Giving can be easy but most of all do not giving up on your own worth, no matter what.

If you are from the ones that kept reading till the end i thank you too dear one, as well us each one of you that keeps following me to my flickr here.

How about some more... hmmm... Oh yes, If you ever want to give it a try for the next MMI 2021 come aboard as well if you like to challenge yourself :)

Thank you everyone

It's like a summer dream, isn't it.

I think I could stay here for hours, it's so quiet and peaceful.

In summertime the field is full with nice summer flowers.

I always go bananas when I come here at that time.

Shooting and shooting and enjoying the moment of joy for my soul and my eyes.

Aiko had to chill down a bit today, it's 25C and he was hot.

It's always nice when he wants to chilla bit, then I can go on shooting without having a leash that destroys my photos all the time.....

What a lovely walk.

Took on a warm summer day.

This was taken at the Flanders Field American Cemetery on Saturday (11/11/2006). The US Army Garrison Brussels Officials honored the fallen with the reading of "in Flanders Field" and the laying of wreaths at the Memorial, also read was the answer to in Flanders Field, which was called "in Flanders Now" by Edna Jacques.

both can be seen here:

It was quite moving to think of those that had fallen and the only identification on their marker is: a Solider Known Only to God

This long-distance traveler has wandered east from its normal home in the Rocky Mountains and areas west. This color phase was once called the Oregon junco and has a black head and brown back.

This railing runs along the top of the conservatory main building.

This wallaby hard a sharp lookout for threats. He must've considered me a threat as he bounded out of the garden when he realised I was nearby.

I think this was worth getting up early for and meeting lovely Flickr Friends to go for a walk in the Dandenong Botanic Gardens. The Gardens are up in the Mountains and the fog was heavy on the way up. It was still hanging quite low throughout the morning, adding a beautiful layer hiding in and around our magnificent gumtrees. I quite liked the contrast here with the Hydrangea's from the gardens and our tall, native Eucalypts in the background.

Your comments, invites, awards and faves, of course, are well appreciated! Thank you very much!!! ; )))

Something different. No bokeh today (sometimes I've got to do it). I had to stand in this spot for a while to get the path with no people on (there are some people in the distance though), but every time I tried to get a shot, someone would walk/cycle/skateboard into my shot. Now, if I trying for bokeh people, that would be fine, but instead, I probably looked like I was lost or something just standing there. :)

Happy Thursday! The weekend is in sight! I've looking forward to some quality time with my camera. I haven't picked it up for several weeks, and with the days getting really short, it's hard to find time or the light to get anything worth it. I always seem to be using the same lens recently, which is fine, but I do think I need to take some other lenses out for a spin this weekend. Maybe The Beast (macro lens)... or I might try and see if the garden birds co-operate with my big zoom lenses. We'll see... :)

This cultivar of Nandina domestica, commonly known as nandina, heavenly bamboo, or sacred bamboo, was blooming in the gardens at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington. Native to eastern Asia, it is widely grown as an ornamental plant in gardens around the world."

day sixty

i love november.

definitely my favorite month of the year.

the weather, thanksgiving, and being with family.

its the best.

today was the most boring day of school ever.

but coming home and taking this picture that i actually enjoy made it better ;)

this church was very disgusting, everywhere was pigeon droppings and junkie syringes ...

This is just by the Brooklyn bridge. In fact, the bridge is on the left side of the picture. And, the snow storm wasn't really that great.

...with fruit blossoms in every garden, and houses and farms in the mountainsides above the fjord. Note the farms high up there above the forest, when we're already up in the mountainside here (!)

I look forward to even more photos like this tomorow - in warm summer weather ツ

This fab (if rather neglected) bench is up at the Stockport end of the walk along the Mersey, just before you get to The Crown! I liked how it looked in the sun

My category: Tropical Farm:

Rather than standard crops like wheat, beans, and barley, Pescado's farms offer more lavish produce. Fruits like mangos, papayas, pineapples, bananas, oranges are common in addition to nuts and olives. The goal for this part of the competition is to harvest 4 varieties of produce faster than the other competitors. But be wary, the delicious treats are a well guarded resource, you will need cunning and skill to avoid detection while gathering the samples. Show your character securing one of these objectives.

Although I am not altogether pleased with how this one turned out, I think that overall it looks pretty good.

For this weeks theme "'Film" I chose The Addams Family and made a portrait of Thing :-) I wanted to do a portrait of Wednesday and I found a model, but we couldn't find the time this week. I really enjoyed this weeks theme, so many nice pictures are submitted to the group this week.

I'm uploading when I can, but still don't have too much time to browse your streams right now. Please bear with me..., I'll get there soon enough and catch up.

This was taken a couple of years ago in Namibia and I already posted this one cropped. I particularly love the original. Hope you like it as well.
