After all, he had just jumped and crossed over to this side of the drainage ditch to avoid me in the first place. I didn't even know he was there at first, so these photos were just pure dumb luck.
After this brief attempt at sleep, he did eventually come around. He even "chased" Chloe for a moment or two until she playfully barked at him. It seemed to baffle him. Soon though, I imagine, barking and wrestling will be a common past-time between them.

I am going to force myself to use my new iPhone camera for a while, to try to get used to it. Until I get used to it, I’m not likely to come up with much compelling “art”, however, because for now, quantity is more important than quality.
My first problem is that I find the cell-phone camera very awkward to use. It is hard for me to hold it firmly, without hitting a button or screen-control. I’m sure that anyone born-and-raised by cell-phones won’t have this issue, however, and I may get better with practice too. I also find the swipe-controls difficult to use because they are not precise enough for me, although maybe I can adjust that in the phone settings. I also find the screen hard to see in bright light.
I have to say that I am impressed with the IQ of the iPhone, although I am still playing with resolution and file-formats. I am also playing with the Halide-II camera-app, although if full manual-control is not available at the highest sensor resolution, there is not much point to it.
Altogether, my first-week feeling is that once I am more comfortable with it, this iPhone should prove to be a very serviceable tertiary-level camera for when I have neither my R5 nor X100 with me, which is a lot of times. The iPhone is not likely to replace either of those two honest-to-god real cameras, however, because it is just to clunky and awkward to use.

After years of having used a wonderful Canon A80, I decided that it is finally the time to upgrade my wife's P&S so I bought her a Coolpix S700. This little brick is amazing for a P&S.
