After Main 3 is relocated, these temporary platforms will be assembled in the space Main 3 previously occupied. They'll have to have these up in time for the Monday morning rush hour.
This is the vacant lot left in downtown Halifax after the old victoria general infirmary was torn down. One of the proposed plans for this site is to turn it into yet another above ground parking lot in the cities downtown area. While plans for the site are in limbo, it is currently being used as a temporary parking lot... this photo was taken on an average wednsday afternoon.

Mikko Saarinen (Finland, Outlaw) bought the meeting to a dramatic close with a heavy crash into the temporary wall in the right hand side of the shutdown area, hooking in front of Timo Makela’s Javelin. The weight of the impact sent debris from Saarinen’s Dodge Dart far and wide, Makela damaging the side of his car in getting out of the way, and then, as silence descended, there was the surreal rumble of the concrete wall collapsing for over 100 metres down track. Amazingly, Saarinen was able to drive home that night, a testimony to the strength of the rollcage as there wasn’t much else of the car left intact.

Temporary hydro lines for construction of the Tunnels on Huron Church Road.
The hydro lines will run across the road way and will be buried in the tunnel tops once construction is complete.

Les lignes de transport d'électricité traverseront la route et ells seront enterrées dans la partie supérieure des tunnels une fois les travaux de construction terminés.
The penguins nest in their old concrete "caves" as well as in these white boxes, and have an indoor pool. They don't have access to an outdoor pool while their compound is being remodeled, but they do get outside when their temporary quarters are being cleaned. The Zoo's video about the new compound (in Danish) shows that it's going to be a real penguin paradise!

They're finally gearing up to do the work on the crossing that's been promised pretty much since we moved in (and the reason we've had no bins for about six months).
After the second world war there was a massive shortage of housing here in the UK. One of the solutions was to build "temporary" pre-fabricated houses. This is one of those houses. Built in 1947 on a wooden frame and clad in aluminium sheeting (there were lots of redundant aircraft after the war so plenty of aluminium) . These were a large home for their time with the added bonus of a separate bathroom and toilet that was indoors. This one is in Hampshire in England.
