Most of the band is over in Ireland, so in May of 2009 we've got Lynn Hicks sitting in on drums, and Matt Schuler alternating with Chris DeAngelis on bass. Sounds great!
The footway the contractor left for the general public to use whilst he rebuilt the culvert wasn't really adequate so the overseeing parties made them build this. Now love it or hate it this is temporary works as an Engineer I'd love to get away with. However I'm working on it! I hope this gets me up to date as well with the right number of photos for April!

The Temporary Tattoo project was my favorite project. I enjoyed working with Photoshop and figuring out the different usages for the various tools. My family contains an Irish heritage and this is why I chose a four-leaf clover for the shape of my tattoo. The four hearts signify love and passion throughout my immediate family that consists of four people. The bold letter "M" in the middle stands for our last name, McCarty, and is black to show protection and strength. The blue dots and flow-like line design are pleasing to the eye and are repetitive along with the hearts.
The jack (metal bar in the middle) and the post on the right are the only thing holding up the middle of my house on the old side.
Anthropology: A series of archeological digs took place at Russell Cave up until about 1950 or so. They determined that Native American groups have used the cave for about 10,000 years, usually as a temporary residence, though there was evidence of occasional long-term residency. The national park service commemorates this residency with a series of bad mannequins. The cave is near the Tennessee River, a well-traveled waterway for tribal people. Most often, the cave was used as a hunting camp. Sometimes, it was a winter haven. It was rarely occupied by more than a couple of dozen people at any time, usually large, nomadic family groups. The cave evidently fell out of favor in more recent centuries--say, the last six or seven centuries. The Cherokee who dominated the region at the time of European settlement had moved beyond this cave. They never used it.
Consider this. The entirety of Western Civilization traces back about 5,000 years. The modern groups that formed the European nations Americans most often consider our origin go back maybe a little over a thousand years. Imagine all the different eras of history that would have passed through this region over all that time, the line of generations stretching far beyond the memories of anybody who lived here. The United States has a history just shy of 240 years. Nations just as old could have come and gone 40 times over the human history of this cave.

Shin hanga (literally translated : 'new printmaking') is a renewal movement of Japanese traditional printmaking (ukiyo-e) in the early 20th century. Publisher Watanabe Shōzaburō (1885-1962) noted that woodcut production was in decline due to competition from new, imported techniques such as photography or lithography. He became the movement's biggest promoter. He surrounded himself with artists whose designs he produced using traditional woodcut techniques.
