This photograph is of the dining room table in my apartment at Clemson. My roommates and I cook dinner and eat together almost every night of the week. With our busy schedules, dinner is that one time of the day where we know we will be able to spend some time together just talking and telling each other about what is going on in our lives.

"Volunteering for a project in India is one of the most valuable experiences you will ever gain. I was teaching in a school that is under resourced and underprivileged in comparison to schools in UK but once you get into it and look past that you will see children who are just adorable! Their eagerness to learn is overwhelming, the children can literally not wait to see the books or resources I had brought and looked over these repeatedly. Yes the project was challenging, both mentally and physically, but anything worth doing never comes easily! The people here are amazing and I can almost guarantee that although your project has come to an end you yourself will not be ready to leave”

Teaching English was one of the most satisfying volunteering activities that I participated in during my stay in Nicaragua. My partner and I taught English to students who had different levels of knowledge of the language and of many different ages. The youngest in our class was 12 and the oldest was 43. What I loved most about this job was that we were aiding in furthering the lives of these people. Knowing English is a very important skill that is almost necessary to advance in the workforce in Nicaragua. Knowing that our students would lead a better life because of the few lessons we taught them makes me feel really good. While teaching I developed my leadership skills and I engaged in issues of global importance.
“Students teaching students” enhance their own learning. Teachers of schools in Delhi facilitate this peer tutoring, helping students utilize strategies such as reciprocal teaching. Students teaching students would be a model that guides students with ownership of their own learning as well as providing interaction that enhances learning. By identifying the student’s zone of proximal development, students can be the scaffold for other students in both expository and investigatory learning.
Ryan initially made fun of Matilda's unconventional batting stance, but not after she beat him savagely around the head and groinal area to prove that she has a solid swing.
