Just back from two weeks to Homer, Alaska and thought I'd start with this photo. Here a Sandhill Crane parent is giving food to its colt, each time teaching the young bird what to find to eat and what is edible.

I have renamed this build: Patience, because it amazes me how much patience and perseverance animals must exhibit when they are starving in cold winter weather. We take it for granted with our cupboards and refrigerators stocked with food. :P

(Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Today was a good day.
Was invited to teach kids how to cook Macarons. I have no idea how to do it. I was there to help with the English. It was wonderful. We had a great time. It was wonderful.

This morning, Mom was busy teaching her two chicks the art of taking to the air and coming back down to earth... Safely. The Chicks, however, were far more interested in probing sand and water while seeking a tasty morsel for breakfast :-)

A striking black-and-white bird with very long, thin red legs, the Black-necked Stilt is found along the edges of shallow water in open country.
They have the second-longest legs in proportion to their bodies of any bird, exceeded only by flamingos.
The oldest recorded Black-necked Stilt was at least 12 years, 5 months old. it was banded in Venezuela and found in the Lesser Antilles.
Black-necked Stilts inhabit shallow wetlands from the western United States to Central America and parts of South America. In the United States, Black-necked Stilts are commonly found in salt ponds, flooded lowlands, or shallow lagoons. Human-maintained wetlands such as sewage ponds or flooded pastures are particularly suitable habitats for these birds, since such environments have some sparse vegetation without being too overgrown.
Black-necked Stilts wade in shallow waters to capture their meals of aquatic invertebrates and fish. They often consume such fare as crawfish, brine flies, brine shrimp, beetles, water boatmen, and tadpoles. They peck, snatch, and plunge their heads into the water in pursuit of their food, and will herd fish into shallow waters to trap them there.
Black-necked Stilts wade for their food, and will only swim or dive when under duress. During breeding and during winter, they are strongly territorial birds, and are particularly aggressive to chicks that are not their own. When not breeding, Black-necked Stilts roost and forage in closely packed groups, often staying within a foot of each other. Black-necked Stilts are semi-colonial when nesting, and they participate en masse in anti-predator displays. The displays include one in which no incubating birds fly up to mob predators, and one in which all birds encircle a predator, hop up and down, and flap their wings.

L'Oceanogràfic is a marine park situated in the east of the city of Valencia, Spain, where different marine habitats are represented. It was designed by the architect Félix Candela and the structural engineers Alberto Domingo and Carlos Lázaro. It is integrated inside the cultural complex known as the Ciutat de les Arts i de les Ciències (City of Arts and Sciences). The Oceanographic is the largest complex of its type in Europe with a surface of 111,000 square metres (1,190,000 sq ft) and a water capacity of 42,000,000 litres (11,000,000 US gal). It has 45,000 animals of 500 different species including fish, mammals, birds, reptiles and invertebrates — amongst these are sharks, penguins, dolphins, sea lions, walruses, beluga whales, and more — all inhabiting nine underwater towers. Each tower is structured in two levels and represent the major ecosystems of the planet.

Excerpt from Wikipedia: Tsz Shan Monastery (慈山寺) is a large Buddhist temple located in Tung Tsz, Tai Po District, Hong Kong. As a Chinese Buddhist monastery established for the inheritance of the teaching of the Buddha, Tsz Shan Monastery is a sanctuary for the purpose of spiritual purification, and endeavours to open the door to compassion and wisdom for the public through various activities. Much of the monastery building funds were donated by local business magnate Li Ka-shing.
Within the Tsz Shan Monastery, an outdoor bronze Guanyin statue, 76 meters in height, is the second highest in the world. Tsz Shan Monastery completed its construction and opened to public visitors in April 2015, led by the Venerable Kok Kwong HHCKLA.
Excerpt from the Guide Map of Tszshan Monastery: The Grand Buddha Hall has its front facade divided by columns into seven bays with an eighteen-metre high roof ridge. Inside the Hall three Buddha statues are placed, namely Sakyamuni Buddha 釋迦牟尼佛, Bhaisajyaguru Buddha 東方藥師佛 (the Medicine Buddha), and Amitabha Buddha 西方阿彌陀佛. The statues are carved from camphorwood 樟木 either painted with gold powder or affixed with gold leaves. This parent flew to the forest floor right underneath it's two young, about 10 minutes later, both owlets tried the same thing in a different spot. Testing out their pouncing abilities with leaves and moss. Pretty soon they will be grabbing up rodents like their parents!
My fifth to last year of teaching has begun with new technology and teaching kids at home while I am in the building starting next week. I wont be Flickring as much these next few weeks, but I will be checking in and maintaining my moderation and admin duties.
