Just back from two weeks to Homer, Alaska and thought I'd start with this photo. Here a Sandhill Crane parent is giving food to its colt, each time teaching the young bird what to find to eat and what is edible.

Jan Hus was a Czech church reformer executed in 1415. His teachings had a profound influence on the history of the Czech nation.
Jan Hus’s contribution to the development of the Czech literary language was the introduction of diacritical marks, such as: č, š, ř, ž, á, í, é. The purpose of this innovation was representing each sound by only one symbol and eleminating digraphs (sounds represented by two letters).
The inscription on the monument reads “Milujte se, pravdy každému přejte”, which means more or less: “Love one another, wish the truth to everyone”. This is a shortened version of a quote from one of Hus’s letters from prison. The day of his execution, July 6th, is a public holiday in Czechia (Jan Hus Day).
This guy complains about not being able to reach the shutter button but refuses to use the remote after I showed him how to do it! I'm running out of patience!!!!!

Many of you will know how fortunate I have been in building a mutually trusting connection with this fox over the past 4 years.
Here I am introducing my grandson, to show and teach him the way to respect wildlife and realise animals are to be treated as an essential part of our lives and not to be hunted to extinction.
I always remember watching Sir David Attenborough sitting amongst gorillas in the forests of West Africa. What a statement that was!
Animals are not necessarily dangerous.
Another important lesson to learn.

Sometimes its not photographing the obvious but capturing those special moments in time.
Great father son moment at a local car show - last Saturday at the Moose Lodge in Wyoming, MI. Odds on this kid growing up and loving autos and how they work.
It's shots like this one that keeps me searching for fox dens. It takes many visits and many hours to win the trust of the adults and kits, so this could be possible.

The dexterity with which elephants pull up grass clumps and small acacia saplings is something that has to be learnt from watching their mothers and older siblings. I love watching the babies trying to control their wayward trunks and feet!

Neue Wege:
Eine Schule ganz ohne Klassen- und Lehrerzimmer - ein Gymnasium im neuen Kopenhagener Stadtteil Ørestad. Grundlage der Planung war die dänische Gymnasialreform, die von neuen Schulbauten Offenheit und Flexibilität verlangt. Die dänischen Architekten 3XN übersetzten diese Anforderungen in ein Gebäude mit fließenden Räumen, schwebenden Ruheinseln und geschwungenen Treppen.
Es handelt sich um ein sehr faszinierendes, helles, lichtdurchflutetes Gebäude - ich habe durch starke Unterbelichtung versucht, dem Innenraum ein mehr dramatisches Aussehen zu verleihen.
Schwarz-Weiß-Bearbeitung mit einigen selektiven Farben (Holzgeländer und die beiden Lichter auf der linken Seite)
