Just back from two weeks to Homer, Alaska and thought I'd start with this photo. Here a Sandhill Crane parent is giving food to its colt, each time teaching the young bird what to find to eat and what is edible.

I have renamed this build: Patience, because it amazes me how much patience and perseverance animals must exhibit when they are starving in cold winter weather. We take it for granted with our cupboards and refrigerators stocked with food. :P

5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Today was a good day.
Was invited to teach kids how to cook Macarons. I have no idea how to do it. I was there to help with the English. It was wonderful. We had a great time. It was wonderful.
It's shots like this one that keeps me searching for fox dens. It takes many visits and many hours to win the trust of the adults and kits, so this could be possible.
At Willow Grove Day camp it is our mission for each camper to get the fullest summer experience. Each day we organize
different activities for the children to participate. It is important to us that our campers get a sense of all
the fun sports and games that are out there for them.
A popular activity for the girl campers at Willow Grove Day Camp is Gymnastics. The campers are taught basic gymnastic
skills. Teaching the campers gymnastics allows them to learn and practice physical strength, flexibility,
agility, coordination, balance, and grace.

Il a été inauguré le 12 décembre 2002.
Œuvre de l'architecte Félix Candela en forme de nénuphar, c'est l'aquarium le plus grand d'Europe avec 42 millions de litres d'eau.
L'Oceanogràfic is a marine park situated in the east of the city of Valencia, Spain, where different marine habitats are represented. It was designed by the architect Félix Candela and the structural engineers Alberto Domingo and Carlos Lázaro. It is integrated inside the cultural complex known as the Ciutat de les Arts i de les Ciències (City of Arts and Sciences). The Oceanographic is the largest complex of its type in Europe with a surface of 111,000 square metres (1,190,000 sq ft) and a water capacity of 42,000,000 litres (11,000,000 US gal). It has 45,000 animals of 500 different species including fish, mammals, birds, reptiles and invertebrates — amongst these are sharks, penguins, dolphins, sea lions, walruses, beluga whales, and more — all inhabiting nine underwater towers. Each tower is structured in two levels and represent the major ecosystems of the planet.

My understanding with Buddhist teachings is that all the pleasures, happiness, well-beings, fortune, good health etc are all illusionary and temporal in life. They are just like bokeh and you would not be grabbing it tightly.
So Buddha is teaching us to understand the fact and to get rid of the desire or greed in getting more of those well-beings. The greed is just the source of your pain in life.
However I did see a lot of people saying prayers and burning the incense in Buddhist Temple. They plead for good health, fortune or all kinds of well-beings in the prayers. I over-heard it when I took this shot.
Is this a very strange thing and it contradicts the Buddhist teaching?

Excerpt from Wikipedia: Tsz Shan Monastery (慈山寺) is a large Buddhist temple located in Tung Tsz, Tai Po District, Hong Kong. As a Chinese Buddhist monastery established for the inheritance of the teaching of the Buddha, Tsz Shan Monastery is a sanctuary for the purpose of spiritual purification, and endeavours to open the door to compassion and wisdom for the public through various activities. Much of the monastery building funds were donated by local business magnate Li Ka-shing.
Within the Tsz Shan Monastery, an outdoor bronze Guanyin statue, 76 meters in height, is the second highest in the world. Tsz Shan Monastery completed its construction and opened to public visitors in April 2015, led by the Venerable Kok Kwong HHCKLA.
Excerpt from the Guide Map of Tszshan Monastery: The Grand Buddha Hall has its front facade divided by columns into seven bays with an eighteen-metre high roof ridge. Inside the Hall three Buddha statues are placed, namely Sakyamuni Buddha 釋迦牟尼佛, Bhaisajyaguru Buddha 東方藥師佛 (the Medicine Buddha), and Amitabha Buddha 西方阿彌陀佛. On either side of Sakyamuni Buddha stands his attendant disciples, Cenerable Mahakasyapa 迦葉尊者 and Venerable Ananda 阿難尊者. The statues are carved from camphorwood 樟木 either painted with gold powder or affixed with gold leaves. The statues inside the Hall were carved following the sculptural traditions of the Tang 唐 and Liao 遼 Dynasties. On the two sides of the Hall, there are eighteen bronze statues of arhats 十八羅漢. At the back of the Hall, visitors can find an illustration of the Maitreya Descending Sutra 彌勒經變, reproduced with modern technology from the north wall of cave 25 of the Yulin Grottoes 榆林窟, east of the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes 敦煌壁畫, as well as illustrations of the bodhisattvas Manjusri 文殊經變 and Samantabhadra 普賢經變 from cave 3 of the Yulin Grottoes.
Designed to impress, this medieval room is the University's oldest teaching and examination room built in the 15th century. It is a masterpiece of late Gothic architecture. Wat Rong Khun ( White Temple ) In Chiang Rai, Northern Thailand
This unique temple is designed by Chalermchai Kositpipat, a famous Thai visual artist.
The temple stands out through the white color and the use of pieces of glass in the plaster, sparkling in the sun.
The white color signifies the purity of Buddha, while the glass symbolizes Buddha’s wisdom and the Dhamma, the Buddhist teachings.
