Last night, the Graduate Student Association President presented me with the Outstanding Teaching Award for 2018. I was the only recipient at my university.

I started travelling internationally right after finishing college when I took a teaching position in Kuwait. Over the decades of my career, my partner and I have continued to work in or explore different parts of the world. More recently, since taking early retirement, we manage to spend around five months away during Canadian winters.
I kept track of all the places with a blogged list. In 2018, I decided it would be useful to find a single, personal image to represent each country I've visited. I have put these into a single Flickr Album. A photograph may occasionally be updated if we have a return visit.
These are organized alphabetically. You should be able to go forward or background from the image's main page where you can also see the names, and dates. In most cases the EXE date is correct. Some images may have been scanned and dates approximated.
Week 51 in 52 Weeks for Dogs and I'd hoped to get my Christmas shot done but it will have to wait until Monday. This is a shot from earlier in the week - Tasku loves to climb on fallen trees and as Mary has recently been teaching Tiva to stand or sit on logs, Miss Show Off simply has to show her how it's done.
Once Jamgon Tsongkhapa declared:

According to this prophesy the Lord’s own disciple, Shesrab Zangpo of Stod first built the temple of Stagmo Lhakhang at the top of the Thiksey valley.
Then his nephew called Paldan Sherab founded the great monastery of Thiksey together with the residence for Lama and it came to flourish.
There are sacred shrines inside the monastery complex and a rich collection of numerous valuable artifacts and ancient relics.
Thiksey Gompa serves as the residence of approximately eighty monks.
The successive reincarnations of the Skyabsje Khanpo Rinpoche act as incumbents of the monastery.
Since 1430 AD children are coming to study there.

Tonight's sunset .... I had a wonderful afternoon & evening teaching & taking photos with our Granddaughter, Erica. She has a great eye with a merging talent.
Reading the boy language is fascinating: when you speak to someone you can trying to understand what's going on in their mind. When you look at other people from far away it can help you to guess what the people are talking about.
I'm still wondering what this man is explaining to the child.

Don't overly concern yourself with the demon of fear that has been unleashed. Jesus Said “Fear not “ if We Trust in Jesus…follow his teachings and pray. Satan should tremble. Psalm 23:4, Luke 12:25, Romans 8:38-39, Matthew 10:28. We need not fear Jesus with his unfathomable divine mercy. That He so much would love to give all of us.
See in Luke 21 this is on the way some day. Is it now, I don’t know? But God could call us at anytime. We should be ready and packed for the journey. We are not promised tomorrow. Consider going to reconciliation John 20:21-23, Acts 3:19, Psalm 46:1-3. It’s a wise decision to be in the state of Grace then satan can not temped us so easily. Make an act of contrition until you can get to a confession. Consecrate yourself to the Immaculate Heart of Jesus and Mary. Pray the Rosary and chaplets daily. Also if possible do some fasting, make sacrifices, attempt to change your life. Get to mass and receive the Holy Eucharistic. In case God dose call sooner then we think. I have read many of the saints went to confession monthly or even weekly.
Luke 21: 36 Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.
Well I think if we really do repent and do a true reconciliation / confession. We will do well with standing before Jesus. I would think. I know I have been in many tribulations and some I did poorly and some I did well. But I try to get to reconciliation often. I think now with all that is happening lately. I need to up the times I go to keep my spiritual strength up. I can’t do it at all with out Jesus help. I hope I gave some people some things to think about. +JMJ+
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name: Thy kingdom come: Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread: and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil. Amen.
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy. Amen.

2 Corinthians 5:18 - Christ gave us the ministry of reconciliation John 20:23 - If you (the apostles and their successors) forgive the sins of any they are forgiven John 20:23 - If you (the apostles and their successors) retain the sins of any they are retained Romans 2:4 - "Do you not know that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?" Acts 3:19 - Repentance needed for forgiveness Matthew 6:15 - Believers may not retain the sins of anyone. Near to my hotel in Siem Reap , Cambodia was a small Buddhist temple ...not on the usual tourist route. So when I had a few moments on my own ,I thought that I would sneak in & have a `nose` around the area. It was a proper little community there, with amongst other things, a lesson taken place in a veranda classroom. I learned later that it was a lesson in Japanese. When the students saw me they smiled & wanted to have a chat .....the monk teacher didn`t seem to mind at all. In fact he happily posed for my picture.
