In June 2018, The Gardens at Texas A&M University celebrated the completion of its first phase: The Leach Teaching Gardens. These seven acres serve as an outdoor classroom where faculty and staff can teach students and the public about food production, landscape beauty, and the natural environment. My life this semester has been a race against the clock. This is the clock on the back of the classroom wall.
I bought the clock and put it up myself - reminds me of the many things I can't count on at Clemson and have to do myself.
I also wanted to capture the brick texture of the classroom wall. It makes me think of a prison wall. i wish our learning spaces were more inspiring.

Student Description: This photo was being taken of myself, as an Elementary Education student at DePaul, while I was teaching a young child in the public nursery school of Ve Deme how to visually identity letters in the alphabet. We spoke each letter aloud together, and he pointed to the letter that we identified. It was such a defining moment to see how smart these extremely young students are, and how incredibly eager they are to learn.
I certainly didn't expect to teach pattern-making and cutting out at tutoring tonight. But those were the skills my student needed. Good thing I can wing it!
