"Volunteering for a project in India is one of the most valuable experiences you will ever gain. I was teaching in a school that is under resourced and underprivileged in comparison to schools in UK but once you get into it and look past that you will see children who are just adorable! Their eagerness to learn is overwhelming, the children can literally not wait to see the books or resources I had brought and looked over these repeatedly. Yes the project was challenging, both mentally and physically, but anything worth doing never comes easily! The people here are amazing and I can almost guarantee that although your project has come to an end you yourself will not be ready to leave”

Scott McLeod of www.dangerouslyirrelevant.org suggested that maybe courses should have icons attached to them, indicating whether they're entirely face-to-face, or face-to-face with varying degrees of online work, or wholly online. I made these icons as a quick look at what those icons might look like. This is nothing more than a quick concept sketch, but there you have it.
What would your icons look like?
This picture was taken by my awesome APCD (Associate Peace Corps Director), Seb, when he visited me in Bobo a few months ago. Here I am teaching my infamous lesson where I played the "Keyboard Police": I stood on top of my desk to make sure my students didn't lift the fabric covering their hands so that they could learn to type without looking at the keys.

I took this picture for the BigSmall challenge. I have another similar like it, and this is my second favorite. I like this photo because to me it represents teaching and the joy of educating others.
I was asked to teach words associated with sports, like kick, run, pass, and I think this student is demonstrating skate, as in Ice skate. It's always good to get the kids involved and have them volunteer to help.
