Army Reserve Soldiers who answered the call to serve with 401st Army Field Support Brigade and subordinate battalions arrived at Bagram Airfield September 18. The Soldiers comprise Detachment 12 and will be deployed for one year. The Soldiers arriving at Bagram will fill positions at the brigade and AFSBn-Bagram and Logistics Task Forces and Logistics Support Elements that fall under the battalion. They were greeted by a number of 401st AFSB personnel who were very glad to see the new DET arrive – it means they are one step closer to going home. Soldiers who will be assigned to AFSBn-Kandahar, 401st AFSB arrived a few days ago and are already learning their new jobs.
Welcome to the new arrivals and thank you to those who have served for the last year.

Naval Support Activity (NSA) Naples and Navy Region Europe, Africa, Southwest Asia, in collaboration with the Evangelical Alliance in the Department of Religious Assistance from the General Staff, Ministry of Defense, Bucharest conducted Operation Helping Hands for the Holidays, a gift-giving event, in Bucharest, Romania on Monday, December 15.
“We are reaching out to the community and asking our Sailors to donate and volunteer and connect with them. It affects both communities in positive ways,” explained NSA Naples Command Chaplain Cmdr. Manuel A. Biadog, one of the organizers.
The event in Romania is one of the five organized this year, the other four taking place in Italy. Each box contained small toys, school supplies, and other useful items for the children.

His one wish was to get back up to where he had come from, to see his family and birthplace one last time. With crucial support and information from Macmillan nurses he was able to get help and grants. I will never forget the smile he had on his face when we got to the very house he had been born in at Latheronwheel, Scotland. Even though it was a tragic time, to me this photograph is nothing but happiness. Gifts in wills don't just help to buy medical support, they also help to create everlasting memories for loved ones and fulfil the wishes of those who have cancer.”

PT&P fabricated these special designed Split-T pipe shoes using a Figure 50 "two-bolt pipe clamp" for a refining project in Saudi Arabia. The pipe shoes are 4" height x 15.5" wide x 18" long and were fabricated from A36 carbon steel with a hot-dipped galvanized finish. They are designed for a pipe size of 14" with an operating temperature from -29°C to 316°C. The pipe shoes are capable of supporting an operating load of 34,000 lb.
Etchingham Supporting Ukraine - - - Following the request to the world from President Zelensky, Etchingham decided to show its solidarity with Ukraine. People gathered in the Queen’s Garden under the Ukrainian flag for a minute of silence thinking of those who have died, are injured, or are fleeing for their lives to foreign lands.
There was then a minute of applause in honour of those who are fighting to uphold the status of Ukraine as an independent nation. As we stood there in the sunshine of an English spring day,

KISSIMMEE, FLA. – Four Soldiers from Mission Support Element, 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), joined thousands of service members, veterans and their families who gathered at the Westgate Resort in Kissimmee for free food, live music and heartfelt fellowship during the second annual Military Appreciation Weekend Concert held May 5, 2018.
Westgate Resorts’ CEO David Siegel opened the property to more than 1,500 military families for a complimentary, three-night stay that culminated in a free concert that featured the Chris Weaver Band.
Alongside the complimentary concessions and children activities, the 143d ESC Soldiers set up and managed two static displays featuring one of the unit’s Humvees and Light Medium Tactical Vehicle. The vehicles attracted hundreds of children, dozens of young adults and even a few veterans who climbed aboard the driver’s seat, donned an Advanced Combat Helmet and put their hands on the steering wheel.
In addition to the dozens of pop, rock, country and R&B songs played by the Chris Weaver Band, the concert offered a military flair complete with the presentation of the colors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Command Post 4287, the singing of the national anthem by American Idol contestant Alyssa Raghu and a helicopter flyover conducted by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Among the long list of VIPs was Florida Gov. Rick Scott who shook hands and took pictures with the 143d ESC Soldiers.
The concert concluded with fireworks that illuminated the night sky, its colorful patterns bouncing off thousands of fluttering flags and smiling faces.

Members of the AFSBn-Kandahar had a special Easter dinner. They enjoyed chicken, stake, macaroni and cheese, potato salad and banana pudding among others.

A diving support vessel / workboat owned by Subservices, S.L., of Las Palmas, returns to base after an assignment.
(Compare to the luxury yacht 'Kogo' behind her!)
None of the vessel's build or tonnage details are known to me.
Note the two divers near the bow, and the wetsuits hung out to dry.
Many large ships stop here, especially bulk carriers, either at the inner harbour anchorage, or alongside a quay, to have underwater hull cleaning carried out, or underwater inspection / maintenance by these guys, or their one or two competitors.
Here is what this company offer, as taken from their website:
"Cleaning of hulls, including propeller and rudder, although we also clean grids and any other appendage that may be required, these cleanings can be both maintenance and prior to dry dock. Polishing propellers, we have pneumatic machines, as well as hydraulics, and the right brushes for polishing propellers, up to a grade A of the Rupert scale. Plugging, we perform any type of plugging, either with conventional methods, or by installing coffer-dawns of any size. Change of anodes, screwed or welded, as well as those of printed current. Cutting and welding; we have cutting equipment, drill type, as well as thermal lance. For welding we have both mobile and installed equipment on our boats. Fire Associates of The Santa Clara Valley (FASCV) is a volunteer organization supporting all fire departments in the Santa Clara County. They operate four Rehab units that respond to multi alarm incidents anywhere in the County and surrounding areas.
This year they were pleased to introduced a brand new Fire Support Unit 2, replacing their old unit. The FASCV is also celebrating their 40th anniversary this year.
Here the new Fire Support Unit is on display at Santa Clara Fire Station 2 as firefighters check out the new rig.

180000 turned out for a mass candlelight vigil organised by the Hong Kong Alliance in support of Patriotic Democratic Movement of China, in Hong Kong on Tuesday evening 4th June 2019. This night marked 30 years since China’s bloody Tiananmen crackdown, a gathering tinged with symbolism as the city struggles to preserve its own cherished freedoms.
The semi-autonomous financial hub has hosted an annual vigil every year since tanks and soldiers smashed into protesters near Beijing’s Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989 — an illustration of the city’s unusual freedoms and vibrant political scene.
This year’s vigil comes at a time of huge controversy over plans by the city’s pro-Beijing government to allow extraditions to the Chinese mainland for the first time.
The proposed law has sparked a backlash from figures in the legal and business communities as well as the largest demonstrations Hong Kong has seen since 2014, a year when pro-democracy protesters took over key intersections of the city for more than two months.

2019年六月4日是六四30年，支聯會今晚在維園舉行六四30年燭光悼念集會，晚上約9時45分，大會宣布今年參加人數超過18萬，警方則表示，集會最高峰有3.7萬人參加。
今年主題是「人民不會忘記—平反六四！公義必勝！」。日間雖然有幾陣驟雨，但晚上前赴集會人士仍然眾多，坐滿6個硬地足球場及草地。
