This photograph was made from Mt. Sinai Hospital. I silhouetted the buildings to highlight the intense color of the sunset and also hoping to minimize the dirt and smudge of the hospital room's window. I hope you all enjoy.
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze

Swiftly fly the years
One season following another

With the news of clouds of volcanic ash drifting across the UK from Iceland and weather reports saying that we are in for some colourful sunsets I just had to get out with the camera.
Sadly the tide was low so it was necessary to wade out ankle deep in thick mud at Dell Quay, West Sussex to find some water, difficult conditions with the tripod sinking in the mud but it was well worth the effort with amazing red glows in the sky after the sun had dropped below the horizon.
Nice for photography but bad news for commuters stranded at all airports in UK due to all flights being cancelled due to potential problems of the ash damaging the aircraft engines!
30 second long exposure using B+W 6 stop ND filter + Lee 0.9 ND grad filter over the sky with a sinking tripod!
Thanks for any comments you may wish to leave.
This is one of a sequence I took during sunset on July 7, 2006. When they are viewed in order, it appears as if the sun does the impossible and drops right through the center of the cloud. As it drops, the red pool of light in the middle-distance moves closer and closer to the camera, leaving behind more and more shadow in its wake.

Essaouira is a city in the western Moroccan economic region of Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, on the Atlantic coast. Since the 16th century, the city has also been known by its Portuguese name of Mogador or Mogadore. The Berber name means the wall, a reference to the fortress walls that originally enclosed the city.
Another Tiskilwa, Illinois sunset. I have nearly a thousand sunset images taken from my yard in rural northern Illinois. Sometimes I wish there was an ocean in front yard, but at least there are lines of trees surrounding the cornfield across the road.
Taken from Miami Beach Marina, Miami skyline in the background.

My daughter and I took a little trip over to Central Oregon for a couple days. On our way back home, we stopped at a viewpoint and took in this sunset. She played around at my feet while I was taking this shot. Quite a spectacular show to share with her.

Taken at quarter to 10 PM last Friday during a gorgeous sunset photo walk with Beefy, this was ISO 6400 and 1/400th of a second exposure time.
It's so nice to have a camera that can handle low light conditions with ease and still provide a beautiful range of colours.
Taken on the banks of the beautifully calm and placid Bow River, at one of my favorite spots.
Hope you are all having an excellent weekend so far!
This was tonight's sunset. I didn't think it would amount to much, but I was wrong. Happily, I didn't go out as I intended, but stayed in. Once I saw this, I knew I was in the right place at the right time.
