Originally shot from a plane somewhere between Kuujjuaq and Salluit in winter 2008, this remains my favourite sunset shot I have ever taken. We were flying between two groups of clouds when I took this shot. Reworked for ODT - sunset on August 13, 2011. SOOC except for the frame and the name.

For Geotaggers, you have to zoom in all the way before the lake appears - zoomed out, they have old satellite imagery that was taken before the lake was completed. This is a man made lake that Saddam Hussein had made after the 1991 victory over Iran; the Al Faw Palace sits on the end of it, just to the left of the frame.

After a futile attempt to get a sunset shot of NS #145 west of Decatur, I had to "settle" for this magnificent sunset shot.
The ParaÃso Quetzal Lodge features extensive gardens, wooden bungalows and a terrace with views of the cloud forest. It is located just 1.9 mi from Los Quetzales National Park. This is a pretty famous place, well known for it’s hummingbirds and pretty much the place to go to see the rare and secretive Resplendent Quetzal (Pharomachrus mocinno). The mountainous area of Cerro de la Muerte is located at a height of 2,650 meters (8,694 feet).
