For generations, sycamore trees that line the pathway into Platán Strand, Balatonboglár’s free waterfront park on Lake Balaton’s southern shore in western Hungary have been a landmark. In the heat of the day, they provide shade to midday bathers. Later in the day, they provide visual stimulation for photographers. I took this photo on the one evening of six when I gave photography priority over the pleasures of cooling off in the water during a heat wave.

A scene from Long Island in Brookhaven, NY. Sunset on Carmen's River. It was a cold and windy night here and I was testing a Rokinon 14mm Manual Focus lens adapted on the Nikon Z6. Of course I forgot my tripod so these were all hand held and shot at IS0 100, f8 with shutter speeds from 1/15th to 1/80th.
Sunset at the Sea Organ is supposed to be one of the most beautiful in the world and it feels like everybody in Zadar goes there to watch the sun going down.

Maui is an amazing place of many natural wonders. I was delighted one evening while driving on Highway 31 coming back from Haleakala National Park. I was struck in awe as I rounded a bend in the road. The scene was breath taking and I had only moments to capture it.
This photograph is a composite of two images pieced together by hand. I didn’t have time to setup a tripod, so there was quite a bit of work in post-processing.
